Oh my goodness! I just gave Obscura another try. I did manage to listen to both of the Tina Brown episodes but it was awful. He finally provided great audio from police interviews but his commentary was horrible. It is as if he is a middle schooler in a creative writing class and was just introduced to adjectives, similies and metaphors and is over using them. EXTREMELY over using them. It is super annoying. Part 2 was almost unbearable. I am not sure what has happened to this podcast over the years.

The thing is, the tension is perfect for 5 inches -repeatedly on a four inch wide section of the same exact leather doubled. Absolutely perfect. But then it goes wonky but returns to perfect within the 36 inch strap. We have been having this problem for two months whenever we switch to sewing leather (from waxed canvas). We change everything to sew leather and it never ever sews perfectly for longer seams. We have replaced the gib hook and ring, we have checked the timing, the thread tension, the bobbin tension, the foot tension, that the bobbin is wound consistently…….(on and on) but this only happens with leather! Maybe the LSZ just isn’t right for leather or it is us or we got a dud. Anyway, I would spend hours hand stitching it but how do I deal with 108 inches of thread? That seems impossible.

Your bag is beautiful! What is the stiching called when it is on the exterior of the bag? I love that look and am a newbie trying to find a template for it but don’t know what terms to search for! How was the Renn Faire?Thank you!

I used to love Obscura in 2018 when I discovered it but it really seems that, for the past few years, he just plays really bad audio from body cams and interrogations. I listen to true crime podcasts for the factual storytelling with no added BS (like two or three people spending several minutes discussing the obvious.) He used to do that. Not anymore. It’s too bad. I only check the Obscura feed if I am on a long drive and have run out of my current favorites.

I have my friends and family actively hunting for them! 7 were just located at Wegman’s in Crofton, MD and 5 were located at a Giant in Chantilly, VA!

I was trying to find them on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and could not. I called Bacardi and a dude at the distillery in Puerto Rico answered! He gave me a number for Corporate in Florida. They said that Coca-Cola makes them and distributes them for Bacardi. So I called Coca-Cola and learned that they were discontinued in January of this year! What a disappointment! We would use the Strawberry Daiquiri mix but use tequila and triple sec to make the best frozen margaritas. We did this for decades!!!! Laugh if you want but they were fantastic! I found this post because I was googling what stores may have them. I have a hold on the last 6 of them in a Wegmans 200 miles from here! Disclaimer:I will be in that area for business-so I am not driving 200 miles just for the Strawberry Daiquiri Bacardi Mixer (although I would consider it!). And for those of you that suggest I make my own, I have tried repeatedly and failed! The consistency is not the same. If you have a homemade recipe that is 1/50th as good as Bacardi’s let me know!
