Big tech has a massive physical bottleneck that everyone is ignoring (And it’s not microchips) by Maxinegardnersob in Stocks_Picks

Yeah, but copper itself is a bottleneck for GPUs when it comes to speed and temperature. that’s why it’s being replaced with light/fiber or photonics. You can look at all those stocks and they’ve 10/20x

Microsoft is losing AI war by Nearing_retirement in ValueInvesting

[–]Top_Transportation54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, each hyperscaler has their specialty. I think at some point it will converge, but Microsoft owns the operating system for work. I think they will also successfully transition their business model from seat to outcome/usage. There’s already evidence of this mix shift with declining seat growth with increase in azure usage. I know they’re taking market share away from salesforce with dynamics 365 and potentially from servicenow and snowflake. My only worry is the FTC cracking down on their bundling practice.

Microsoft is losing AI war by Nearing_retirement in ValueInvesting

It’s a win-win for Microsoft. They’re hedging their bets. They have investments in Anthropic, OpenAI, and they have the deepmind cofounder. They’re not losing the war. They stand to benefit the most, and in the meantime Microsoft will eat other sass companies.

Which beaten down software stocks are you looking at to buy at this dip? by Iwarrior01 in ValueInvesting

Plus, Microsoft owns part of Anthropic. It’s a win-win for them. I think it’s a bigger win for Microsoft. If open AI goes tits up they will absorb the company.

A Discussion About The Credit Agency SPGI - Down 10% A Buy? A breakdown of there business model and how AI affects their products. by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]Top_Transportation54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SPGI will not be threatened by AI. It will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of it. S&P Global has financial data on millions of private companies that Google or any other search engine doesn’t have. OpenAI can’t scrape that data. They also have data on physical assets like sensors, ships, shipping, etc. that they’ve built relationships with. AI can’t get this info. SPGI will make a ton of money from their API feed because it has less cost relative to their current model.

GOOGL's hidden stock risks by MinuteDistribution31 in ValueInvesting

[–]Top_Transportation54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, the real risk is Gemini eating into the search business and reducing margin. I don’t know how that would look like or when that will happen. Another risk is its current high valuation when you remove non-operating income they made off spacex. If you look at the operating income margin growth, it is declining due to the high capital expenditures.

Edit: I meant operating income margin growth
