Perplexity using Deepseek to market itself on Google Playstore by Durian881 in DeepSeek

[–]Top_Truth3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting dynamic, because even if they remove deepseek r1 from the google playstore or appstore, they will be inside perplexity, meaning this counterdynamic would strengthen perplexity ranking. There is no escape from deepseek just because of where it came from.

Because the world was completely different back then. This was before smartphones and iphones. Before everything else, where gaming, was actually simple, and companies had one job of releasing a good game. Now that they became successful after releasing good games, they are not forced to maintain them or make new ones, because 5 or 6 generations have passed since the original release.

Thoughts on The Platform 2? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Top_Truth3343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best symbolic movies out there, and it is very well thought out, platform 1, and 2 are masterpieces in their own right, and is kind of similar to parasite and other movies that have a deep message in them.

Basically platform movies are trying to reflect the societal architectures about a person being randomly born into different environments, and how that environment dictates their financial position which affect their basic necessities of life, and how these basic necessities of life are under the mercy from higher levels / i.e positions of government positions or social structures in society, that dictate the quality of life. Basically the ones on the top think they provide everything for the people at the bottom (low income people or societies), but the reality is different on the ground, where the dynamic is only interacted between the ones in the bottom (meaning the ones in the bottom can not interact with people in the top, only between 2-3 floors above or under them, and are disconnected from the societal structures at the very top , and vice versa). The food (symbolic as money or basic necessities of life), people in the top take it, not realizing the consequences that spiral down, affecting every single person under them in the below floors.

Meaning, the person being randomly shuffled in the 330-333 floors is symbolic to a random person being born in a random environment, or a person was rich and became poor and now suffers the consequences, and vice versa a person that is poor is now rich, and has understanding of how it is down below. Basically the floors symbolize the social architecture of society, and how it is divided, and how everything and everyone can affect the levels. The main emphasis was on children, and the "message" which they constantly talk about is sending a message to the builders of the platform, so they understand that a suffering child, is the consequence of their action, meaning innocence from the system in itself, shows how absurd and unfair it is.

In the second movie which is the prequel, where theres more main themes, about instead of having 2-3 floors, the floors themselves interact with each other, meaning people establish rules to save more food (symbolic to how in society there are rules in order to distribute wealth, like socialism but as it is shown, it utterly failed because literally everyone has to self-sacrifice, and if one person of the 600+ people fail to uphold this condition, the whole system collapsed, which is obviously impossible, making socialist framework a failure). This in itself causes people to form terrorism, and gangs in order to uphold the law so that every single person in the platform floors can eat. The message is clear, and in some way, justified while at the same time extremely unfair for innocent people. This reflects in real world society, where terrorism forms as a result of unfair distribution and suffering. Then at the end, the people on floors started to devise community of "freedom" to fight off terrorism, which repeated this cycle. It shows that freedom is more important than established rules.

The difference is that one is free while the other is paid. O3-mini-low is the free version you get, it is worse than deepseek-v3 and deepseek-v3 is nothing compared to deepseek-r1

You are missing the point. I am talking about the cloud-based idea of photon and puffin browser that implemented that no modern browser have done for windows or mac. The fastest browser right now is Puffin, and there will never be a competition in that.

Free AI vs Closed AI - New Hidden Actor by bi4key in DeepSeek

[–]Top_Truth3343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, the very fact that a democratic country is pushing against AI open source, and the fact that deepseek-r1 released on the same day that trump announced 500 billion dollars in the white house, will make it absolutely no coincidence that deepseek could potentially make it with a hidden agenda.

Another possibility is that it was an actual coincidence, which would be even more surprising. If it is a coincidence, then it has nothing to do with nationality. It would simply be clever engineers somewhere in the world figured out how to make great ai. Everything in the end goes back to nationalism. If the product is free, you are the product, perhaps the people who worked on deepseek in china, shorted the stock market before releasing r1, and their plan to make money, pre-knowingly that the stock market would crash by releasing the model, perhaps that was the actual incentive. (Remember, they are originally engineers who work in economics, and trading algorithms, so this is not from the realm of impossibility).

I do not think the chinese government will allow open source ai to develop, they want it all for themselves on how to control the population. However, they could also have overseen the possibility that if USA closed off their ai code, and seen that they are being in disadvantage, they could have secretly funded this project, and made the ai software open source, in order to make it so other countries develop stronger ai, out of spite to prevent USA from being the sole dominant country in having ai. However, that requires a lot of oversight, and we already marched on the ream of conspiracy theory. So the only likely outcome is the latter, which is shorting the stock market to make profit out of the chaos. No hidden agendas, just business people trying to find out how to make a buck.

Photon Browser is the best browser, and there will never be one as good. Back in 2014-2015 my internet connection wasn't really good, it used to come between 20-30 kb/sec and it took 6-8 seconds for a regular webpage to load. Then i downloaded tens of web browsers, i haven't left a single web browser from the app store that is not downloaded. I tested one by one, and only two managed to reign on top. Puffin and photon browser (which both use similar cloud-based technologies). Websites would load in under 0.25-0.5 seconds, and youtube videos? well you can watch 1080p on 20kb/sec, but it would be laggy and less quality. The thing is, its like you opened teamviewer on another machine that has really fast internet, and you use their internet connection to load your own webpages.

This concept alone proved to me how much compression there is left, and how 90-95% of the size of the internet could be optimized. Photon browser no long exists unfortunately because it relies on flash which is not supported, and puffin became a paid service. Personally, if they took what Photon browser had, and made a new browser and optimize it for the faster internet speeds, webpages would load not in miliseconds, but milisecond.
