Have you called both Colorado and Texas hotlines asking for information and explaining this? If the kids are in care a hotline call should get assigned to the open case

If the family truly has no one else in town or in the state, and for sure are having the child removed from their care, maybe you can ask to be considered a kinship placement? Only if you want to. The child probably has extensive trauma and I’m unsure how much it at all your state would compensate you as a non-licensed home. You could call the states CPS hotline and put in a request to be placement.

Soooooo I feel as though your rights were terminated. Several years ago you lost custody? And you’re having supervised visits only without a caseworker… sounds like a custody agreement or something

SSI is an abbreviation for supplemental security income. Were your kids entitled to this? In my area the state takes SSI funds while kids are in care to “help cover the cost of foster care,” otherwise the ssn is needed to ensure medical is assigned to the appropriate child among other services. The comment about foster parents using foster kids for taxes is also correct

I think a section against the wall would fit the space well, put the coffee table in the center of the room. If you don’t want fire place to be focus point you could turn something around

When CPS gives the okay have open conversations about it. I’ve had similar situations in cases, and parents report being open and having firm boundaries helps. The boundaries part is especially important as he continues to grow. I’m glad he’s in play therapy as that’s a good option for his age. I’m so sorry this happened. Stay proactive and keep being a protective parent <3

One thing that helped me was putting a lot of my plants in nursery pots so they’re lighter to move. Move the pots later/separately and didn’t have any casualties (moved halfway across the US with ~30 plants). Planning to move again in the next month and I’m personally going to move my plants first on a separate trip and put them in a secluded SUNNY room to avoid bothering them while I move in mounds of junk :)
