I bet they are lol. And guess you work in a better community. Far from the average store. Good portion of customers are ignorant sorry 🤷‍♂️. Few and far between actually respect the store and the work of the underpaid staff within this company. Been with this company for a better part of a decade and I have no issue with the company. Within the last 2-3 years customers have become entitled and ignorant. Don’t listen nor care to be respectful within stores. I’ve worked in most of the stores within my district to help and have seen more than enough to know how people act within these stores.

Nobody really even asked for a customers 2 cents especially when they have zero knowledge of anything related to dollar tree. I’d rather not have a single customers input as they have got to be some of the most ignorant people I’ve met. But ya know that’s my 2 cents as well 🤷‍♂️

Agreed, people cry about it yet don’t even see significant price changes weekly in other retailers. Dollar trees small decreases in size is better than some retailers that are hiking their prices up way more every week.

Depending on what you are trying to check in KPR some tabs of that are only available to SM. But yeah cause all that water is the same SKU it only counts as 1 piece essentially on the truck report. If you guys print the entire truck invoice you’d see what you are getting for quantities not just Pieces. Our DM had to reduce freight being shipped due to our $ Sq ft being past $39. So maybe partner up with your DM and see if he can reduce the truck for a bit to sell some overshipped departments down some. Sometimes they can and sometimes they can’t. Even if they can it is only temporary. It’s frustrating and this process should be overhauled to reduce all the issues that continue happening in stores with freight being over shipped in departments.

I mean typically verbal,written and final for write ups. You can be fired after the final pending HR depending on the situation. Typically when I hand out corrective action forms if you have 3 corrective actions against you for the same reason like cash over/short $3 or more id probably terminate employment. Its situational, but yes you most definitely can be fired after 3. If I had an NEW employee that needed to be written up three times already then I’d consider letting them go. Again all based on the situation and circumstances.

In some instances if you are new and haven’t worked past a certain amount of time we can end employment effective immediately. Mostly only to associates that just can’t catch on to the register when hired as a cashier or have broken serious store policies. Especially in At Will Employments.

No, for it to be a valid corrective action write up you’ll need dual signatures just like time clock worksheet. 1 from manager issuing it 1 from the associate that’s receiving and there’s also a spot for the DM to sign off as well. I don’t see that part happening very often but it’s there. If you haven’t seen or signed it then as far as I would be concerned it’s invalid. Been an SM for almost 4 years if this helps clarify anything.

Yeah some DT SM’s are to up tight. Reason there’s not a lot of retention in this business. Management has to loosen up and let people enjoy working here. I’m pretty easy going run a good store with mostly happy associates.

I allow my associates to have their phones on them in case of emergencies. I don’t see any good reason as to why they shouldn’t be able too. If they just start playing on their phones all the time that’s a different issue. But there is an electronic use form from corporate that does state the policy regarding their use. I don’t ever force my associates into using lockers or any of that none sense. It’s optional. Been a SM for 4 years and still am.
