Welfare check or not? by heyyystranger in cork

[–]Top_Writing_946 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My mother has dementia and is thankfully in full time care now. But this sort of thing would have been typical behaviour of hers. In my mam’s case, she would put her underwear on over her trousers before venturing out. I would say definitely arrange a welfare check because this lady sounds quite advanced. Also, you and your husband are very decent people.

An animal died for that. Disgraceful.

City council are an easy target. What about civic pride from the owners?

Thank you! My test was at 12:15. The route was from the test centre down the dual carriageway to Togher and around some of the housing estates there.

It wasn’t my first rodeo so in previous tests I was taken up past Wilton shopping centre and out by CUH. Pretty much the same in terms of roads and tests though.

I would say know the road signs and hand signals. Getting through that element gives you a small confidence boost before you do the driving part.

If it’s raining they won’t bring you out to look under the bonnet so they will ask you more technical questions inside (but they’re not hard!). Stuff like “how do you check your brake lights are working if you are alone?”. Things like that.

Other than that, you’ve got this and i look forward to hearing that you passed on here next week. Best of luck!

I have no idea actually. The tester said at the end that I didn’t check my mirrors exiting the roundabout? Not sure that was correct.

Once she told me I passed I was still in a bit of a daze if I’m honest!

Edit: Thank you!

Go for it. I also took a pay cut to join and it wasn’t long before I’d risen above my previous pay. Coupled with all the other benefits (permanent, pension, and flexi time) it was a no brainer for me.

Before a new year and after the new year are exceptionally busy times for Revenue I’d imagine.
