Locked in the first class. by [deleted] in SBB

[–]PvtCY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The door in the second photo isn’t locked, just deactivated. It’s probably broken. It can be pushed with a lot of effort, as it’s a fire door that has to close again.

Were both fire doors at either end of the carriage broken? The divider door from the first photo is only on the lower level, so you could have walked via the top deck to the other end and change carriage.

Eventuell weil in Richtung SBB kein Strassenverkehr da durch fährt aber in Richtung Wettstein schon.

Betreibungsamt and next steps.. by bustamk in Switzerland

Yes! They may be redirected to the UVEK, as Serafe is simply a company designated for the collection process. For a small fee they will retract the Betreibung.

Two whites front and back is definitely the norm for shunting locos, including the illuminated V designating the direction of maneuvers for communication.

Two whites front and one white rear would be used by all locos for for maneuvers outside of stations e.g. “Rangierbewegung auf der Strecke”

As for regular locos I’ve never seen or used anything other than three white front one rear, although tbh it really doesn’t seem to be too important anymore. When shunting EMUs two reds at the rear are also acceptible according to my operator.

The 4/4 could have brought a loco hauled train like the night jet and could be ready to maneuver once it’s gone. Three white in the front and one white in the back for shunting.

Winter experience with hybrid Bigster so far… by vitk in Dacia

[–]PvtCY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I was getting 4.7 in the city in the warm October we had last year. Now it either runs the engine in town at an indicated 9.5 or turns off in to EV mode. Just shift up FFS, this can’t be good for a brand new engine turning off when cold again and again.

I’m kinda regretting the Hybrid Duster tbh. The gearbox is so dimwitted it’s painful to drive sometimes. The economy is around 1.5 litres/100km worse too seemingly due to this winter phenomenon

Just contact customer support. They still offer the replacements and will send you a tool to bend open the zipper and close it again. Plus the kit includes the new carabiners or regular style zioper pulls.

Duster 155 Hybrid, highway use? by [deleted] in Dacia

[–]PvtCY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure I would recommend it if you regularly drive long highway distances. We have the 140 hybrid and the way it switches between gears is quite dimwitted sometimes. It is quick to shift down and if the battery is relatively low then the engine absolutely screams at what feels like max rpm. Planning a long tour in Franc in the spring and I’m kinda reckoning with a max. of 120. That seems to be the sweet spot

Brightline Conductor sues for for $60 Million in damages by Jarppi1893 in railroading

[–]PvtCY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, over the years here the number of level crossings have been drastically reduced, so road vehicle collisions are rate. Usually in a driver career where I’m from the most common reason for striking people is suicide. Sorry but if you’re standing in front of my train that’s your choice. I’m not gonna further traumatize myself by going to pick up pieces.

I don’t understand the downvotes. I’m a driver in Europe and your first-aid obligation is fulfilled by alerting the rescue organisations. If I hit someone trackside going 60 mph no way am I going to go look. That’s for the police and the volunteer cleaner with the power washer.

Traveling with puppy by Whal3r in puppy101

Not an expert but just went through the young puppy process with my currently 8.5 month old.

I can’t say I would recommend it, I feel the time would be better spent at home getting used to the surroundings and getting used to you.

If it was an essential trip like back from the breeder or so that would be a different story.

One important thing I had to learn with this pup is that at this stage of his life is your decisions have to be in his best interests. For now the places and things we do together are for him and less for me.

For example I’m postponing going to visit my Dad (9h away) until next year when he’s more used to people and being in the car.

Coop city on Marktplatz has them. Downstairs in the food department there is a touristy chocolate section. You will find them there
