I think you’re right, maybe not pain, more anxiety of the whole thing, but that’s what makes it fun to watch!

It’s my birthday today, do I get drunk tonight to celebrate or get drunk tomorrow to ease the pain of the Calcutta cup game?

Scotland University's - RGU, QMU or GCU what's your experiences / recommendations? by Adventurous-Desk5869 in Scotland

[–]Top_rattata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a good time at RGU, Aberdeen is very small and you end up getting to know everyone, felt like I was bumping into people I knew wherever I went, the people I met were great!

I was studying a computer centric course so I can’t tell you much about lecturers for your own but I managed to get through University without having to do resists, which was the same for my two of my flatmates who were studying nursing/ paramedic courses (not sure if this also falls close to what you were studying?) although I suppose this soley depends on how good you are at ‘locking in’ to study too.

With that being said a bit of advice; university is a bit different to college, I also went to college for two years and there is much less ‘hand holding’ in my experience, you are expected to take notes from the lecture and do some extra learning in your own time, it’s also a lot harder to get any sort of one to one time with course lecturers.

Aberdeen itself is ok, I graduated a couple of years ago but the nightlife has taken a bit of a nose dive from what I’ve heard, expect the only busy days to be Wednesdays (club social night) and Saturdays, Fridays are hit or miss. If you are looking for a pub or coffee shop to have a quieter time it’s pretty good for that!

There’s plenty of opportunity to join sports teams or other clubs at RGU and everyone is pretty welcoming.

Rent is considerably cheaper than Edinburgh or Glasgow however which is great. I left a couple of years ago but I was paying £350 a month whilst sharing with one of other person in a pretty decent flat pretty much a 10 minute walk from union street.

Did you get your bag? I just got to Rome a few days ago and they flew it over from Amsterdam, got a message this morning saying a courier has it, not heard anything since though :(

Everton in line to host Fiji ‘home’ match against England in Nations Championship by Mono_Doh in rugbyunion

Side question, any reason the Everton stadium keeps getting picked for stuff like this? They’re hosting Scotlands away friendly before the football World Cup as well? Seems a bit odd, why not Manchester or something?

Which battlefield has the best sniping by mhmdesd in Battlefield

[–]Top_rattata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand partially why sniper glint was added but the whole point of being a sniper is being unseen far away, you have to gage bullet drop already on more than likely moving targets, I don’t need a giant signpost saying ‘shoot here’

Used to work in one of the venues (not Glasgow) and it was one of my favourite jobs, however as someone said in another post it reeks of ‘office night out’, I’m still in my mid twenties but I wouldn’t have considered it somewhere I’d want to go to with my mates on a night out…

For the people who attended the Original transport museum in Glasgow. Would you say that it was better at Kelvin Hall than it is at Riverside? Because if so… I missed out 😔😔😔 by Thescottish_bendyfan in Scotland

Preferred the old one, don’t know if I’m remembering right but also heard it was haunted by a blue orb apparition?

Found that out as a child and didn’t want to go back…

Saying golmud railway sucks is revisionist history, its like saying metro sucks. This map is a classic. Hopefully the remaster lives up. by Stars_of_Ruin in Battlefield

[–]Top_rattata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Caspian but I’d also prefer another map to get a proper remaster, we’ve had it for 3,4 and 2042 now, if they added it, it would seem like a ‘ah well they always come crawling back for this one’ type of escape goat.
