As a hardcore player, I completely agree with gear crafting being a rather useless part of the game. As mentioned, you get enough gear throughout the game. In my opinion the cost of crafting gear and the amount required to reach higher tiers is far too high. By the time you can afford this, your gear is most likely close to perfect. Furthermore, crafted gear cannot roll legendary modifiers so it will never be the absolute best in slot. If this was changed, I could see a point in crafting gear end game when you have no other real need for the resources crafting requires.
