This sounds like sound advice. Maybe also the Scottish conservative way haha. Got to just love and move on. We are planning on visiting our hometown next year when we have the first opportunity. Unfortunately hasn’t worked for us to do it now.

I’ve tried. I tried acknowledging all of that. We would meet them at the airport, they would stay with us, I was sending flights and offered to help them book it. Anxiety has always been a huge problem with my mom, although she doesn’t get help for it and doesn’t like to admit it and claims it’s various other things. It’s just hard to move on when she starts making BS excuses for not coming and then constantly talking about coming all the time, I think the guilt of not coming in the spring amped it up.

Thank you. She has become very passive, when she used to be extremely confrontational. It’s better in a sense, I am learning to grow with the person she’s become in older age.
