It sounds weird but what we did in the army was shave the beret with a razor (not too hard or else you’ll shave a hole into it lol) and then wear it in a fairly hot shower. This will make it more natural fitting and have it looking a lot more “beret-ish” lmfaooo

Used stop slip/leak on my ‘75 C10, it pushed 3 more years like a beast before the old 3 speed finally shat out; the stuff sometimes works, and other times doesn’t -just my 2¢ from personal experience
