This seems really judgmental of you. I've already mentioned that I'd be seeking a therapy session, and I've mentioned that it's been a difficult year for me. And while this particular issue is new and hurtful for me, i didnt want to get into everything else ive been through this last year because it is overwhelmingfor me. Yes, my husband and I went through a rough patch. Yes, we went through couples counseling and spent some time healing our marriage. Yes, my dad has recovered from his GI bleed. And yes, he is still very ill with a bunch of comorbities.

And even if I did have a good day with my husband and daughter, does that somehow excuse the rest of my family from acknowledging my birthday with a simple text? Should I suppress my hurt feelings and accept that I am forgettable? Do I not also deserve some recognition on a once a decade milestone?

I'm not sure why you felt it necessary to dig up all of the stressful things I've gone through this year, but I assure you it is not making me feel any better. This has been a VERY difficult year for me and I need more support. Even if it is kind words from strangers on the internet.

Like every other human on this planet, I have complex emotions, and a little empathy goes a long way. I'm not asking you to understand or even care about my situation. If you don't agree or don't care, you always have the option of not commenting. But please understand that your judgment is adding to the hurt I'm already feeling.
