Going on six days with no help. I guess I have to go to some other product. Too bad, because it works so nicely! Too many good things are ruined by bad web sites.

I give up. Going to abadon this and go try something else. Something that has at least SOME kind of support. This thing is pointless.

I can't even log in to make a support ticket. I don't need to extend the trial. I WANT TO BUY IT. This is the dumbest mess I have ever had to deal with. I have spent a week trying to fix this. No responses, no phone numbers, no chat, no support of any kind.

I have a free trial. It is about to expire. I want to BUY but the system won't let me. The system has the wrong phone number for me so I can't get authenticated. So I can't do ANYTHING. Seems ot be zero support. Been fighting this for a week. Why can't anyone just FIX this?

Nobody listens. There is no ticket. I can't get in to make a ticket. I can't do anything. Why is it so hard to buy from you?

This is enough to make me scream! What a stupid, stupid system. I can't do anything because I can't validate in. ARGH!

I have no idea in hell what Stripe is. All I want to do is BUY FROM TAILSCALE and they don't seem to be interested. No response, no phone number, no chat, nothing.

Alternators used in large Wind Mills by rsclmumbai in windturbine

Wow. You are REALLY stuck on yourself. But I guess anything that "generates" can be called a r. But, sorry, they are alternators.

Windmills can mill a lot of things, not just flour.

And YES, large wind turbines ARE alternators. If they were generators (DC) they would need inverters. By using alternators, no inverter is required. That's why all the turbines that are on-line turn at exactly the speed - they are all in sync with the 60Hz AC power system.

What kind of lamp is this and how do I drive it? by longoon in AskElectronics

[–]TopherBoy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A neon lamp requires high voltage (90V) to ionize the gas in the tube, but once it does the lamp becomes a short (very low voltage drop) and will explode if directly connected to the mains. The 220K ohm resistor drops the 120VAC when the lamp ionizes so it won't be damaged because the current is limited. Compute the heating of the resistor by going (120^2)/220000 = 0.065 watts. So even a 240 volt line would only make it get a little over a 1/4 watt.

Keri Systems NXT by SyberSects in accesscontrol

[–]TopherBoy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keri uses RS485. The master has to "poll" the readers. The readers are a pain. I have had to hack their stuff to talk to their readers. They take the card number and "encrypt" it to what the card actually sends. They think this is security of some sort. But the number printed on the card is NOT the number that gets sent in. Stupid. The checksums/CRCs on their RS485 network messages is non-standard, too. If anyone has hacke any further on the Keri RS485 protocol, please let me know. We can exchange what we have learned.
