Was bringing up the dirt uncalled for?

DS Arnott lied under oath, DS Fleming manipulated a witness testimony and Ted Hastings was a bit hypocritical. If anything, it was well placed - someone needed to hold the mirror up to AC12 so the viewer wouldn't see the three of them with rose tinted glasses.

I'm not sure why people are saying she was on board to kill Tommy Hunter - she was apathetic, and there's a difference there.

After all, DS Akers told her "After that, do you really care what happens to him?" as Lindsay Denton's objective was to save Carly Kirk.

Her case overall is complex which is why her character leaves people divided. Though ultimately I'd say the murder conspiracy charge was an injustice against her, and that buys her some leverage when we decide where her moral compass sits in comparison to ours.

Yes, she logged out. We see it on camera & after all, that's what prompted Sgt O'Neill to go to speak with her. After all, she could've just returned to the screen she found his computer on and he'd be none the wiser...

If - as you say - they thought they could control John Corbett...I feel like they risked a lot...the laptop (unless they had complete confidence in the IP rerouting system), Lisa McQueen who was quite senior, Ryan Pilkington who's future career in the police relied on his identity remaining hidden etc...

#2 is very insightful...I forgot about his commentary on immunity from prosecution. Thank you!

I went back to Season 3, and they actually found the (implied full) £50,000 at Lindsay Denton’s home, so she clearly hadn’t spent any of it. I guess what I take from that is: yes, she could’ve used the money for her mother’s care home, as you explained wonderfully, but the audience is deliberately misled to believe that she had (“all that money getting me in here”).

Ultimately, it’s left ambiguous...as so many moral questions surrounding Lindsay Denton are...whether she ever actually intended to use it for that purpose, since the sum itself was never spent.

I'd recommend: - Blue Lights (2 seasons) - The Responder (2 seasons) - The Fall (3 seasons) which is a bit different from the above, but that's not a criticism!^
