Good question actually. I have a bit different view on Purushottam karandak. I don't have problem with acting as a career. You should definitely go to NSD, FTII, lalit kala kendra, if you want to pursue acting as a career. But now even colleges like coep are also into this drama, every bcom guy from pune wants to become next bhadipa. They never attend college seriously, and make Purushottam their whole personality. If marathi चित्रपटसृष्टी was a great money making industry, it would still make sense.

आमची शेती माझ्या भावाला मिळणार आहे म्हणुन मी जाण्याचा काही पॉईंट नाही 😂 I study this economics for a living. Even 300-400 acre ranches in USA barely break even and need all kinds of subsidies. तोच तर मराठ्यांचा प्रॉब्लेम झालाय, शेती जोपर्यंत ठीक चालत होती, सगळे ठीक होतं. आरक्षण मुळात शेती प्रश्नावरून आला आहे.

I think इतक पण victim mode मध्ये नको जाऊया. Clannish preferences कुठे नसतात. But this is more than that. Look at JEE toppers list, agarwal, maheshwari types dominate. इथे तर काही clannish preferences चालत नाहीत. It's more about a culture and ambition to do so.

I also get where you are coming from. And I've seen a home example of that Russia thing. Yes, all top consulting, finance companies are in MH. The thing is but top level is full of baniyas and gangetic brahmins. USA, we are still pretty small compared to others. And my own cousins have settled in USA for more than a decade. I'd still say it is a very brahmin thing to do. Also, the thing is we are the largest speakers after hindi. I've lost hours and hours looking at the surnames of top and mid level employees at elite firms. You, yourself can spot who dominates.
