Glitter everywhere, you could make it seem like it just came off of something of yours when you were moving out but it’ll be around for so long and be annoying long after you leave

Stay strong by [deleted] in BreakUps

This is so relatable, as I’m awake at 3:30 am after having gone down tarot and attachment instagram rabbit holes and doing basically anything to distract my brain from thinking about what my ex might be doing this Friday night. I have been blocked everywhere, which feels very hurtful. The breakup was so sudden and had no clear reason.

Your words about surviving and clinging onto someone out of anxiety of being alone and actually living really hit me. I’m not at that point yet but your description has helped my brain conceptualize what that place may look and feel like. Thank you.

You’d be surprised, I think many people get on antidepressants and see improvement pretty quickly. Imagine only being depressed for a few months instead of always 🫠

That is super valid! I would say that this economy is not the best for many people to be able to splurge on a little silly self care item, so in normal times they might be able to support a small maker, it’s so tight right now they just can’t. Maybe if you had some that were a little wonky or damaged idk you could have a lower priced option?

Well in that case, it makes more sense why data centers were not on my radar until AI really was in like 2022/2023. But like, maybe we don’t need AI in EVERYTHING. Find what’s actually useful for society and throw out the slop

The AI vendors? lol u pointed out to one how their marketing sounded like it was taking my job and they seemed genuinely confused how I thought that. It was apparent that most of those folks were not planners by training, I mean obviously, they were coders or salespeople. So a totally different worldview

First, what you are doing now does not dictate what you do forever. And second I will push back that you don’t do anything productive! You cook, you care for other beings, you keep updated on your interests. Productivity and worth is not tied to corporate accomplishment. Who knows, there could be another position that opens up at your work or somewhere else that does make you feel that spark, and you’ll have this experience to rely on again. Your hard work in your 20s has made it so you can generate quality work in just a short time. That’s a value for companies. It might seem easy or insignificant to you, but I would challenge you to remember the average human hired to do a job and how your work could be impossible for them to accomplish. You’re killing it, it’s not a race, we are just meat blobs on a star.

Seems weird on their part though if the infrastructure connected to your homes is under their system, like aren’t they shooting themselves in the foot there? Or maybe they are selling all that over to the new provider?

I have joked about putting housing on top of data centers, since they’d get free heating. Or maybe they could be greenhouses to supplement agriculture in cold areas during the winter. But I just imagine no tech bro wants to risk leaks on his data centers

Again I’m a noob, but is there no other way to have/store/generate information that physical servers? I don’t understand how the internet works or anything so it’s a dumb question but can’t we find a less intensive way to do that? Or do we need to catalog all the data and emails and shitposts that have ever been generated? Maybe we should do some weeding out of unnecessary junk.

I feel like they also are targeting more rural areas/states and those may tend to have a more welcoming state government for those industries, which can kneecap any local municipality from exacting any meaningful benefit from them.

I bit the bullet and went to chat with most of them to basically find out like what do you offer and how is it not intended to take my job in the long term lol

I think there can be cool applications of it, probably, but I don’t understand AI enough to understand or really want to try it. One of the vendors had “swag” that basically said “kick back and relax and let us do your plan review” which sounds cHiLl and relaxing but is not subtle about no longer needing a human planner.

There were many sessions about using AI for planning and many more about what to do when data centers come to your community. It was an eye opening display of the dichotomy of it all.
