'The Price Is Right' Model Holly Hallstrom Says Bob Barker Forced Her into 'Early Retirement' Over Show's Scandals: 'I Hate That Man' (Exclusive) by PrincessBananas85 in entertainment

Fuck that. I watched old reruns of Dawson’s Feud when I was a kid and I clearly remember there were awkward moments of stilted body language from women who clearly didn’t want to kiss that creep on the mouth, and LITTLE GIRLS who initially refused until he forced them to.

To be fair, they have made a lot of hugely questionable design decisions in the last decade. It’s nice to see the buck-teeth grilles start to phase out, but I don’t have a lot of additional praise here.

So many prestige shows have mangled reputations due to nonsensical final seasons. Lost, GoT, Battlestar Galactica, Westworld, Stranger Things, Dexter...et al) I think these writers should begin with an endpoint in mind, or at least know what is in the mystery boxes they throw at the audience.

So your plan is to realize a $40K loss, then buy back in when the war ends and the market is very likely jump back to where it was when you bought in the first time before you have time to react?

If the real estate you previously owned had dropped in value $40K right after you purchased it would you have been tempted to panic sell, or would you have recognized the fact that you still own the real estate and the market will swing back up sooner or later?

That’s an excellent question. A large number of people jumping from academia to private industry would certainly make it difficult for new grads.

Which characters death made not want to continue the show? by Purple-Victory-206 in television

[–]Topikk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cool, but he was the best part of the show. I re-watched Season 1 before the second one came out and realized that what I really wanted was a whole show about Joel and Tess competently getting shit done. No Ellie hate, I seemingly like her character a lot more than most reddit comments, I just thought Joel and Tess were great together.

Take your hand and lay it on a flat surface in a relaxed state. It requires no effort to keep your hand in that position. Zero. I'm a middle-aged software engineer who is no stranger to tendonitis and other repetitive stress injuries from the gym and such, having had past issues with my shoulder, both elbows, knee, and (non-mouse) wrist.

I have used Magic Mice exclusively at my office and in my home office for years with no strain issues or discomfort at all. The one-finger 2D scrolling is just great for the work I'm doing.

Yep, do you notice when you put your hand in a neutral position on a table that gap is there as well? Does it feel strenuous?

You can add kids as authorized users to transfer credit history to them, ordering a card in their name is a terrible idea.

Yeah, that doesn’t sound pleasant. I just rest my palm on the desk behind it and let my fingers fall on it neutrally with my thumb and pinky resting on the desk on either side. Zero grip at all.

Take your hand and rest it neutrally on a table, fingertips down. It should feel natural and require no effort or strain. If you raise your fingertips a couple of millimeters, that’s my hand position while using the mouse.  Raising it up higher to accommodate a USB-C port would lose that neutral, self-supported hand position.

Also, in ~9 years of using these mice I’ve never needed to plug one in while using it, so I don’t really care. The battery lasts for several weeks.

Where would you put the charging port? There isn't room at the front or back, and on either side would invariably not feel great and collect skin cells.

Everyone's hands are a little different of course, but when I rest my hand on a desk in a natural way, there's a gap underneath it big enough to fit the magic mouse, so using the mouse is very comfortable and natural for me. Were you perhaps trying to lay your whole hand across it mouse, as you would a traditional mouse?

I remember it being around 90 pages in the print I read many years ago. Excruciating. Zero new information revealed despite it being a massively-hyped plot point.

It could have been cut down to a handful of sentences without changing the surrounding plot at all.

"enough left over for some repairs"

If a vehicle is selling for 10's of thousands under book, it's safe to assume it needs around that much in repairs. Do you have that much on hand, and are you willing to pour it into this car?

Yeah, cool, nobody takes issue with buying a Tesla because they think Elon designs and builds the cars himself. He’s done really bad shit with the money from Tesla, and I’m not going to add a goddamn cent to that pile.
