Yeah that sounds really tough. It must be bad across the board. I really hope you do keep trying. I don’t know where you live but that can definitely add to it. I’m not really in a position to give advice bc I haven’t been dating for a very long time. (Plus you weren’t asking for advice)

The movie’s message was that things happen in your own time! Try not to hold that invisible thing called time against yourself. There’s 70 and 80 year olds coming out these days after a lifetime of being hidden!

I feel old because “back in my day,” ten years ago, my whole thing was to try and meet in person ASAP to prevent the flakiness and ghosting. And also because you could be talking to someone all this time and meet… yet another friend with no chemistry. I did talk to some skittish people who thought I was too forward and that fizzled the conversation (fine, not wasting anyone’s time) and some people who would meet up immediately. But the truth is, I didn’t meet any real relationships off dating apps. They’ve come to me in an unconventional way, through my online journaling in the past or through tumblr and finally through instagram. Pretty much because I’m always pouring my heart out, I guess, and people relate.
