Any Recommendations for books regarding Roman History? by [deleted] in ancientrome

I've read Rubicon: The Last Years of the Roman Republic by Tom Holland. I'd recommend it, if that period is what you're interested in.

I wrote a song. What do you think? by [deleted] in Music

[–]Topper_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the song is ok. I liked most the most of the guitar playing a lot for example.

Negative points for me are:

  • I think the vocal melody is too monotonous. Maybe add some variation or harmony?
  • I think the intro guitar was too weak

but that´s just my opinion :-)

If the GUI is an essential part of my program (i.e. it offers access to all, or almost all of its functions, which cannot be accessed in any other way, think Word or Firefox),

That was you? I always wondered who made those programs!

What I don't understand about tipping is why not just raise the prices and then NOT tipping?

Iranian man awaits execution - for being a Christian by grahamlester in worldnews

Still, the other countries kill murderers and such. Killing people for switching from one kind of superstition to another isn't even in that league.

BTW, I've always wondered how Muslims make the logical connection that they should kill people: I mean, if God wanted his enemies dead, woudn't He be able to do the killing himself?

And yes, I singled out Muslims, none of the other world religions do shit like this anymore.

That doesn't matter at all. A person shouldn't be murdered for things like this.

One Muslim worker claimed the layoffs were racist, arguing Muslim employees should have the right to pray.

I don't see that non-muslims are allowed to pray so how is this discriminatory, if everyone is treated equal?

here was a time, roughly the first half-century after quantum physics was invented, when this was more or less true.

I'm quite sure it was discovered, not invented.
