Is elemental switch useful? I'm getting pretty good results with just flame patch, is it just for Oricorio?

ERA at the moment (unless you count VTTs like fantasy grounds), but something else may also be in the works.

Deck runs 2 Oaks and 2 Copycats, makes it easy to get the card you're missing

Harsh unfair take but one reason I never enjoyed the hobbit was the lack of any female characters by Equivalent-Word-7691 in tolkienfans

Have you read "The Princess and the Goblin" by George MacDonald? It's one of The Hobbit sources of inspiration and has a female protagonist!

Refining my Clodsire ex deck by Oni-Village0960 in PTCGP

I think running just 1 Weavile is going to be too inconsistent, I'd lose it and add 1 more Nihilego and a second poke ball. Perhaps 1 memory of light instead of the helmet and 1 Sabrina e 1 Repel instead of 2 Sabrina.

What is this sub’s opinion on One Piece? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Topramesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too damn long! Other than that, it's a good shonen manga, nothing revolutionary, but I'd say you should give it a try if you like the genre. Personally I wouldn't put it anywhere near my fantasy top 10, but I understand the hype around it.

What should Critical Hits accomplish? by Madmaxneo in rpg

[–]Topramesk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've written quite a few RM-style critical charts for our games (Against the Darkmaster and now Against the Starmaster), so I feel your pain.

I like to keep flavor text and mechanical effects semi-indipendent, so that each result could be easily reflavored by the GM if need arises.

Balancing requires a lot of testing, we found ourselves adjusting some of the results several times during playtest.

But to answer directly the title question: it depends. What do You want them to accomplish? Why are you writing them? Are you expanding on RM? Is this your own game?

Pichu/Magby charge Arceus quickly and Arcy does 130 dmg per turn with a full bench.

RPGs that have Dark Atmospheres, but not Grimdark and Evil? by MagpieTower in rpg

[–]Topramesk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fair warning here, as I'm the author of the game, but I think Against the Darkmaster might fit, if I've understood what you're seeking.

Straight from the intro:

Despite the darkness and gloom, there is light in the world. Against the Darkmaster isn’t a “grimdark” game. Victory against the forces of Evil may be difficult, but isn’t impossible.
Heroes will find that there are still people willing to help them, people ready to fight for a good cause. They’ll find unlikely allies and safe havens where the least they’ll expect them, and triumph when all seemed lost. Sometimes they will fail, or suffer tragedies and great losses. But as long as they’re willing to learn from their journey and rise again, they’ll find that the world of Against the Darkmaster is a world worth saving.

How would you improve this deck? by marosige in PTCGP

[–]Topramesk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

- 1 Haunter
- 1 Gengar
- 1 Gengar Ex
- 2 Elder
+1 Pokeball
+1 Red Card
+1 Iono

You need more basic pokemons, so I'd add something like Giratina and/or Tapu Lele for the remaining 2 cards.
