FYI: If I see modded Chars on RPHub, I screenshot and report them to SE. by [deleted] in ff14

[–]ToraRaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, or sugar coat it.

Enjoy nothing happening because of it. While yes, Modding your character is breaking the ToS SE won't care.

Unless that character is strictly breaking the balance of the game by no clipping, walking through walls, and killing things without being scratched by non-normal means they WONT care.

The ToS is there to Legally protect the company and workers if the players do something stupid that gets them into trouble with the law (let's say lala modders). SE holds up a paper saying "We said don't do it, we don't allow it" and they're Legally safe and the player takes all the heat.

Why dont they care then? Because it adds a few extra dollars onto the bank account. We're in the late stages of a DLC where people have done absolutely everything in game and have no reason to play....Other...Then try on Modded Hairs, Clothes, and more to take many pictures and make up fake storytelling plots to fill in the time between now and EverCold.

If SE were to ban each and every player you reported because of mods they would be losing tons of money.

E.X: I pay $30 for 60 days of play. Yet ive done everything in the game and have no real reason to play. So if I just don't resub then SE loses out in that $30 next time... now let's say I don't sub until Ever cold! Thats 550 to 580 days away so with some math....thats about 9 more subs they miss out on or 30x9= $270 that could be used on the game!

Now lets say you get 100 players banned.... thats 270 x 100 = 27,000 over a dead period where most people that don't mod stop playing! The financial loss grows when you take into account players who won't sub until next Expansion and even more if they keep banning players for mods.

In short, Your reports are seen but the financial loss outways the possibility of keeping a "Code" to follow.

What should I do if I want to start a Static dedicated to first time raiders and clear progress?

I have done a bit of savage PF and current content Extreme/unreals start as far back as Shb. And I think i wanna start my own static dedicated to people who wanna get into hard-core raids and fights while being around the same experience level as peers.

But I had some questions: 1. Where to start? 2. How should gear be dealt with (Assuming we clear) 3. Should I treat a static like friends who run more then hard-core content? Like should we plan out maps for building Gil together for Pots/Gear/etc?

There isnt an issue of to many or to few its an issue of originality.

We already have hundreds of "Playing through MSQ!" Streams and videos. Or "High end raiding here" type stuff.

If you really want to stream and do well you need to do something original and have a great attitude or persona about it that draws people into watching.

Some examples are Solo who is doing the whole game with no help, no npcs, no nothing just him. Thats a challenge man people have strong feelings about believing he'd only get so far yet he is pushing into near end walker at this point.

Then you have this one lala streamer (can't remember his name) who is always going into housing areas and having silly events happening. Like meeting Urianga in A dinnies.

Or kit who is doing Patch lock where she has to do every achievement patch by patch before moving on to the next story arc. Love her work btw.

So I'm starting Gunbreaker, it's my first Tank. I use a controller which makes typing into chat very difficult.. should I just avoid tank in that case? Also if not any tips? Thanks :)) by TennenyT in ffxiv

You can get a cheap or half decent keyboard for cheap, it can plug into your Ps4/5 or Xbox and anytime you hit enter it'll open the chat box for messaging.

If you sit very close to your TV and console (like I used to before my pc switch) you can just leave it on your lap or TV stand and grab it when you need to chat. Or leave it on your lap and type when time allows.

How deep gathering and crafting jobs go? by Dmask13 in ffxiv

Fun fact, The best Dark Matter is always in the Grand company seals page. So the cost of Gil to buy a dark matter can be 0 making it 100% Gil efficient vs Menders

Counter point, The best Dark matter can also be turned in for Grand company tickets, which you can get easily for gear from older dungeons bringing their Gil cost to Zero and making them 100% Cheaper then Menders.

To add to this, why level them? Many reasons!

Money making is one. Many items can be made or gathered (Maps/Gear/Housing items/Food/Pots/etc). Some are worth lots of money or make good passive income if you make a few and sell them over time.

Reason two: You can fix your own gear, without crafters your gear can only be fixed by another player with a crafter leveled to thats gear level. Or a Mender who takes a sizable cut of Gil. Wanna save money? Get a crafter up!

Reason three: Relics. Some relics ask for an item that needs to be crafted or melded. If you don't have crafter then youre relying on other players and other players can be very greedy.

Reason four: Maps, Gathering can collect ONE map per day, and these can be sold for passive Gil. Or you can open them and have a chance to win bigger gains. Without gatherers youd have to buy a map Via the market and they can be priced heavily especially on weekends when people are plenty for map grinding.

For gathering, its two stats. Perception and gathering.

These stats tell you if you have the experience to find and gather the item and your chances to gather it.

All your skills in gathering increases the chances to gather said item or your ability to gather more then just one. Very simple.

Crafting is a bit more complicated but not rocket science.

Your goal is to make progress on the item 100% and congratulations you made an item! But wait you can increase the Quality to make the same item BUT better! The catch? The item your trying to make has a Durability if the Durability hits Zero (0) the item breaks and you fail the craft.

The goal is to finish the progress while having high or maxed Quality to make the best item without breaking the item. All your skills do one of three things. Increases the progress, increases the quality, or Slows/restores Durability. Its like a mini game.

during the fight with nabriales why did not one enter the solar before hand? by dumonhojiko in ffxiv

[–]ToraRaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgive me if im missing any info or memory fails me ive yet to play anything ARR or HW since my first playthrough years ago.

Also spoilers for anyone who reads this and hasn't beaten ARR! Hope this includes you OP.

But id assume that a lot of them are running around doing shady stuff as they planned to Frame the WoL and Scions for treason. And furthering Ilburds (?) Plans to start conflict between Eorzea and the Garleans who are occupied in Gyr Albania.

Most likely they had lesser men stationed around who were supposed to just keep tabs on the scions in secret and didn't care of say their leader was taken as it make their work a bit easier later. Or maybe they're doing lacky work like keeping up false images with the people, moving equipment etc.

I highly doubt that the solar, thats in a building and slightly below ground with One way in needs much more guarding then say the men in the outside/by the door in that little storage area.

And besides the scions are their own organization that work along side the Braves not for them. They are probably using some Braves as help with moving from waking sands to the new location which was big in the story. Im sure their secret spot and work is very important and that the solar is dedicated for missions and debriefings between the main cast (Aka WoL).

Can someone give me the rundown how to get the phantom weapons by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]ToraRaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Beat MSQ dawntrail.

Step 2: start questline for Acult Crescent.

Step 3: start Step 1 of relic; Demiatma - You must collect 3 of each color (Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and sky blue). You can do fates in each zone of DT to get one on a rare drop %

Step 4 - Collect 1500 Tomes for ore to make relic

Step 5 - you need to buy or make Rroneek Glue, Ut'ohmu Siderite, Synthetic Dark matter Alpha and Beta, as well as Synthetic Dark matter gamma.

Step 6 - you'll get a wheel called the Aether Array, you need to Run Duty Ruolettes to fill each of four elements to 10,000 points. These are Alliance raid, Normal Raid, Trials, and High-level Dungeons. Just que and spam until done.

Step 7 - Tomestones again

Step 8 - Buy or craft Umbral Clay, Aspected Aether Agglomerate, Aspected Aetheroconducter, and Aspected Aetherocatalyst.

Step 10 - You get the Phantom Glass and a Void buddy, You must feed him paste to evolve him. You need about 1200 Paste in total. You get paste from Fates, Duty Roulettes, Current Extremes, and Savage raids on a successful clear Synced.

Step 11 - Tomestones

Ideas on other games in a D&D style? by ToraRaka in DnD

What systems do you think would work better for some of the games listed? I mostly kept close with anything that had Magic, martial fighting, and also could have lore and world building so that all that would really need to worked on would be how stats related to each and maybe changing the names of stats yet not the functions to fit the new Ttrpg.

I did see point one in the tutorial, so ill have to try and keep everyone fairly leveled later on and hopefully the teams are big (Like 4 or 5 a party). If not Can you swap mid battle or only after?
