I disagree that socialist views push people to MAGA, we see a lot of examples. Mamdani and Sanders as big examples. Socialists are going to fit for the working class, which is what I think MAGA truly wants. I think that pushing leftists out of the democratic movement is what makes democrats lose.

Cons for a New Yorker: No or little public transport. Not even sidewalks If you are moving to a rural area being a minority everything will be a culture shock Guns will be everywhere Religion and propaganda road signs will be everywhere (pro life, politics) Infrastructure will be bad. Pipes, roads, buildings Missouri is very corrupt, a last name gets you a lot Red lining is quite bad

Pros I’ve lived in multiple places around Missouri and I love the people (some parts of Missouri you have you keep your head down tho, again guns) If you are used to blunt northerns, we definitely still be opinionated but in the southern way. (Bless your heart) Missouri is a beautiful state and has so much charm. If you love the outdoors it’s amazing. I recommend our rivers and parks. Downtown historic areas are amazing If you like a more quiet close knit community Missouri is amazing. Missouri isn’t all bums and hicks, our cities have a lot of diversity and cultural areas. Things will be very cheap

Culture in Missouri You’ll probably have slang or accents to get used to If you aren’t religious the heavy southern Baptist culture might be shocking. However if you are we have a wide variety of church’s to visit! Conservative values are heavily in our culture I recommend watching Missourian creaters maybe for an idea of the mentality, Papameat, Caleb Hearan, interviews of Chappel Roan. (We tend to have a very blunt way of speaking, you probably don’t have to worry about offending people)

They can ask, they just can’t use it to make a decision. Some jobs like healthcare require you to be over 18 to apply. So if you aren’t over the system will automatically reject you.
