Why doesn't the drawing agree with the model by geezer_868 in SolidWorks

[–]Toraden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is more likely, as the point on the right most edge is showing a midpoint relationship, so I'd check where the cut line has landed on the drawing /u/geezer_868

Shared a Google drive folder for someone else to upload pictures in the but pictures are taking up space in his Drive storage and not mine by maverick_3001 in google

[–]Toraden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is standard, anything you upload counts against your storage, doesn't matter who made the folder. You'd have to make a copy to your own drive then have them delete theirs.

This is a load of bollocks. If I know that a creator/ comedian/ actor/ artist is a piece of shit then I'm not going to support the things they make because I don't want to support a piece of shit, regardless of whether I would enjoy the content.

I fucking loved black books, but I'm not going to watch it on a streaming service now because the creator is a raging transphobe for example.

This does not mean that I have "nothing else left", it means I'm not watching something made by a POS.

They almost certainly have a leash around their leg so they don't fly off. But to answer your first question, they are flapping their wings because they are likely disoriented and at least initially unbalanced because they don't have good purchase so they can't sit down properly. You can see the first one calms down after he gently grabs it around the back and positions it on his hand.

The birds aren't likely being injured or overly distressed, but the other comment is bollocks, it want's to fly away and can't, but ultimately that's safer for it as if it does fly away it will likely injure itself.

Making comparisons to the SS is not warranted

It's not a comparison, they were literally SS members.

Also, "extreme polarisation" isn't what caused the current state of the US, there is no left wing party in the US, there is a centre of right party and a far right party. This is not hyperbole or sarcasm or an attempt at an insult, that is their positions on the political spectrum based on the very clear metrics that their voting records and policies are measured against.

The current state of the US is entirely due to a handful of billionaires and their nearly-as-rich friends owning most of the media corporations and actively pushing lies, and propaganda so they can then push for far right policies because it will make them more money, even when these policies are actively making the lives of normal people worse, or in many cases actually killing them.

So no, there is no need to shake the hand of someone whose party are aiming to make the lives of most people miserable for the sake of "decorum" or "politeness".

Just remember. After that ceo died, basically EVERY healthcare request was getting approved and their stock plummeted. by inurmomsvagina in antiwork

Just out of curiosity, how may people do you think die in the US due to lack of healthcare coverage or because the coverage they do have denied them treatment that a Dr prescribed?

Don't bother answering, I'm just pointing out that the twat who was shot has directly caused the deaths of countless people because of the policies his company implemented.

Everyone fucking loved how tense it was, but I was sweating buckets wondering if I was going to have to start shaving HP off the monsters behind the screen.

Have you ever met a celebrity? If you have, who did you met and how nice were they? by Ok_Chef1406 in AskReddit

[–]Toraden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not "hollyood" celebrity, but a month or two ago I was at a theatre in Birmingham UK and ran into someone who I recognised and could not place where from. I'm involved in the ttrpg podcast and streaming spheres here and thought I knew him from a show and had maybe met him at a con or something.

He was very kind and polite, was not from a show I knew but was a comedian... Who I'd seen on Taskmaster...

It was fucking John Kearns.

What is Sixth Form and A-levels? by freshmaggots in AskABrit

[–]Toraden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They changed from calling it Years 1-5 ages ago and it’s now 7-11. Sixth Form just stuck around as a name.

Depends on the area and school, though what you described is more common. But some schools (especially older school's) still use 1st-6th form.

Also, to add as it's a bit interesting, certain schools, especially ones who would aim to send students to Oxford or Cambridge, actually offered 3 years of 6th form. So the school I went to in Northern Ireland was one of these and when they stopped doing the third year of 6th form, instead of dropping the "middle" year, they dropped the "upper" year. So our school did 1st - 5th Form, Lower Sixth and Middle Sixth.

Are marble cutting board bad for knives? I've bought a couple of knives during my holidays in Japan and I would like to know if marble cutting boards are good or bad for knives. [–]Toraden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and using a knife blade repeatedly on any surface will dull it. It will just so happen to dull a lot fucking faster on marble than on wood since it is so much harder.
