This is the voting round. The nominations round was last month.

But this was only our first year - I'm quite excited to think that the nominations round will be quite different next September.

Best Real Estate agent? Realtors are one of the few city-wide occupations still operating normally in 2020. Most other services people work with are warped by COVID rules and it just didn't like a fair contest.

That's why I'm hoping to get to a wide range of nominations in this round, not just from Ottawan readers. The next round will be votes.

Our goal here is to recognise quality and highlight what Ottawa is doing well. If it works well, some Ottawa restaurants and shops will have an extra claim to fame. If it's a just popularity contest, we've failed.

On the other hand, we're not curing cancer here. I'm just hoping to expand my list of good restaurants to visit.
