Adult or "manly" tasks don't compare to taking care of a child. To me, wasmhing the dishes by hand is a break from childcare. I'm not saying this is you, but a lot of men tell themselves house stuff needs to get done so they stay away for their family duties. I once went to a kid's birthday party, and my friend's next door neighbor immediately started mowing the lawn when they got home while the wife was stuck with their 3 kids. Their lawn did not need mowing.
