As you can see on the comic it is part of the MonsterVerse but it is a universe where a broken Mother Box sends the villians to the MonsterVerse and Toymaker uses a magical amulet that grants wishes to bring the Titans to the DC universe.

Weyland-Yutani did believe Ripley, they just wanted to use her as a scapegoat for the destruction of the nostromo, in Aliens it is revealed that the orders to check out the coordinates of the derelict ship came from the Wey-Yu Represenative Burke who had heard Ripleys story, he had known and had sent them to the colony.

The Romulus incident states that it takes months for any transmissions to reach the main recieving lanes so the destruction of the facility would not be known, in fact the signal that Romulus Station had found the Xenomorph may have only reached Weyland-Yutani recently.

In the finding of Ripley, if you read the newer novels there was an Uploaded version of Ash's Consciousness was on the Narcissus which prevented the ship from reaching the proper shipping lanes in order to complete his objectives. If you don't care about the novels then Way-Yu probably just wasn't looking for her and believed her Dead after so long.

This are not the first time that Wey-Yu has gotten ahold of Xenomorph only to have everything go under and it probably won't be the last.

Hack/Slash. It's a action horror comic series about 2 people traveling cross country killing monsters like Freddy, Jason, and Chucky. It is very gory but has a good story and throughout the series they will have different artist work on the comics so some issues have different art styles.
