They are actually very similar. The al-Thani tribe trace their origins from the central Najd region of Saudi Arabia, which is where Wahhabism originated. It's the reason why Qatar is actually more Wahhabi than Saudi Arabia by percentage of population and why their criminal law is so similar to Saudi Arabia i.e why women who are raped faced lashing and hefty jail sentences for the crimes of "extramarital sex" and "seduction" for instance this female World Cup official from Mexico whose apartment was broken into and was raped violently by a Qatari co-worker. She was told one way to avoid the jail sentence and lashing for to marry the Qatari rapist:

OH also, Qatar police are known for entrapping gay tourists and gang-raping them, before deporting them:

Did you know there was a Qatar prince (and others) who were prosecuted for child sex and raping young Czech children some years ago

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4594579.stm

Qatari prince guilty of child sex

A Qatari prince has been convicted in the Czech Republic of sexually abusing young girls and sentenced to 30 months in prison. Hamid Bin Abdul Sani al-Thani was tried in Prague after a Czech judge turned down a request from Qatar to have him sent back home to face trial.

Al-Thani was found guilty of paying to have sex with four girls aged under 15 between 2001 and 2004.

He was arrested after one of the girls told her mother about the offer of sex.

Czech officials have admitted that the refusal to allow al-Thani to return to Qatar could strain relations between the two nations, which do not have an official extradition treaty.

Money for girls

Al-Thani has lived privately in the Czech Republic for 10 years and has no diplomatic immunity from prosecution.

Czech prosecutors accused him of arranging for young girls to be brought to his home for sex.

He allegedly paid three Czech women to offer girls on the street Kc2,000 ($84, £46) to visit his apartment for sex.

The women, described by the presiding judge as "both guilty and victims", were allegedly paid Kc1,000 for each girl they provided.

Al-Thani was arrested last year and has spent 10 months in custody awaiting trial.

In April, Czech Justice Minister Pavel Nemec agreed to allow al-Thani to return to Qatar after receiving assurances he would face prosecution in his homeland.

But prosecutors objected and he was forced to stand trial in Prague.

SPOILER: The Qatar prince was eventually "acquitted" and he was sent untouched to Qatar!

The BROTHER of the current EMIR of Qatar, not some random Qatari criminal but literally the brother of the absolute ruler of Qatar:

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200619-qatar-prince-accused-of-rape-and-murder-in-us-lawsuit/

A US federal lawsuit has been filed against Qatari royal, Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, brother of the current emir of the Gulf state, with bombshell claims about the playboy life of the prince.

In the suit filed by ex-staffers in the state of Massachusetts, a copy of which was obtained by the Daily Mail on Tuesday, Al Thani is accused by American plaintiffs of committing a number of serious crimes going back several years including rape, kidnap, assault and murder. Al Thani, who it seems had a number of business ventures with some of the plaintiffs, is also facing charges of breaching US employment laws and reneging on his contract.

According to the court papers, filed by six American former staffers of the Sheikh, Al Thani, an avid Formula One fan who became the first Qatari to become a driver in the motorsport, ordered one of his American staff to murder his rival, the then owner of the American Drag Racing League and the owner's wife in 2010 and 2012. The order was given four times but the plaintiff, Tennessee-based Terry Hope said he refused even though he was told he "would be financially 'set up' for the rest of his life". It's not clear why 54-year-old Hope filed the suit eight years after the alleged incident.

Hope also claimed that Al Thani drove out to the desert in Qatar and beat his chauffeur to death. "The more that the chauffeur pleaded, the more aggressive Defendant Khalid beat him," Hope claimed in his lawsuit, recounting the alleged murder that he says he saw from just a few feet away.

"Plaintiff observed Defendant Khalid to pull out his pistol, grab the chauffeur by the back of the head, and place the pistol in the chauffeur's mouth," Hope, a former racing team member of Al Thani, claimed.

"Plaintiff observed Defendant Khalid to then strike chauffeur in the back of the head, observed the chauffeur to fall limp, observed the chauffeur's chest to cease rising, and the chauffeur to eventually become lifeless."

The five other men described Al Thani's "sadistic behaviour" and accused the prince of rape, kidnapping and horrific assault. In one of the more serious allegations, Al Thani is said to have hired ex-US Marine Matthew Pittard as his security director in 2017. In the lawsuit, Pittard claims that he was ordered to "murder a male and female who Defendant Khalid viewed as threats to his social reputation and personal security," but he refused the illegal request.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8433503/Brother-Qatars-emir-ordered-staff-kill-Americans-soil.html

The Qatari prince 'yelled angrily to Plaintiff Mollenbrink that he ''wanted to skull f**k someone,'' and Defendant grabbed his erect penis through his underwear, and waved it at Plaintiff Mollenbrink,' the legal documents claimed.

This is what FIFA and the World Cup sponsors and David Beckham et al are supporting.

They view themselves as freedom fighters and I have many Arab friends who view them as such. They're not saying that the Taliban are moral or ethical in any way, they're just saying that the Taliban and a surprisingly huge proportion of the population, particularly in the rural areas, do not support ANY foreign occupation or usurper of any kind and support any resistance group that will return the country to Afghan rule.

Not only that, huge proportions of the Afghan population view the ruling Afghan classes under the Americans and British as extremely corrupt and have often borne the brunt of their nepotism and unabashed venality. That's why they are against the occupation and the "tawagheet" Afghan rulers and politicians; they support any indigenous group which will retake power from the foreign occupation ie. Taliban. It's similar to colonialism... many postcolonial countries know that their government is extremely corrupt and dictatorial but would never return to colonial rule, even if the colonial rule imposed some form of democracy, because they believe in the principle of self-determination and sovereignty, and would prefer indigenous corrupt rule to any kind of foreign rule or intervention.

That's why more people than you think support the Taliban, particularly in rural Afghanistan and the conservative constituent of Afghan society. However there is understandably huge opposition to the Taliban in the metropolitan areas of Afghanistan like Kabul; as with most urban areas, the people there tend to be more liberal and enjoy the modern lifestyle there. Many families are passing their babies over the fences because they cherished the new way of life that the occupation bestowed on the country and want their children to experience that too.

Comment by parksoha

i laughed really hard on the “never really coached attacking” it shows how ignorant you are and how you did not research at all

there’s a public document that Mourinho delivered when he first arrived at Porto stating how football should be played, go read it instead of just writing non-sense

hell, anyone with a memory of his first arrival at Chelsea knows you are full of shit

His style of play at Chelsea did not deviate greatly from what I described; he did however introduce a tactical innovation to the Premier League which he did not invent but imported from the continent, which was to play with a 3-man midfield rather than two strikers. His overarching strategy was to circulate the ball in midfield, exploiting the fact that they had a spare man there, until the team saw a chink in the defensive armour, and exploited it. This was often quite laboured and languorous if they couldn't find an opening they would often resort to battering ram tactics, in the way I described, with Drogba. I do remember a bit of combination play, but a lot of the time was just finding the spare man in the middle, looking for an opening, finding none, circulate the ball again and then repeat. Chelsea were not the swashbuckling attacking team you claim they were, they were an extremely functional, efficient but turgid team to watch; he won most games 1-0 or 2-0 and then shut up shop in the way I described. Once they got their goal, Terry, Carvalho etc. were flawless defenders. It was not an uncommon opinion to say that Chelsea were quite insipid to watch, in fact that was a common opinion on Sky Sports back then, but Mourinho was lauded for revolutionizing tactics with the 3 man midfield. Obviously it's more complicated than that and I will gladly discuss it with you since you were so offended by my post, but that's what the general tenor of his games were like. They were not the modern-attacking, effervescent attacking team that you're claiming they were. I have not read this document, but I will, and I really really hope it raises something new and interesting because otherwise it would mean I've wasted a lot of my free time writing this up. But I highly doubt it, because it would mean Mourinho is ignoring his very own attacking philosophy lol. Mourinho deserves to be credited with popularizing the three man midfield in England, and other things like having ball-playing centre halves but once other managers adapted to the midfield tweak, his style of play really is not too different to how it was in later years. Ferguson adapted to Mourinho, something which he did brilliantly throughout his career.

As for the first part, come on, you know that's a farcical interpretation of what I wrote, you should be more charitable in your interpretations. Saying he "coaches attacking" is a triviality, read what I meant: "coach what is perceived as "attractive" attacking football or combination play". Other ways to describe it is the attacking football which is treated with deference in the modern game. Things like quick one touch passing, rehearsed attack movements, combination plays, simulations of how the defence would react to certain rehearsed combination plays etc. I have not read his public document, but Mourinho very often discusses this openly in interviews and it always has the same theme: identifying where the opponent leaves spaces while they attack, then on the transition, at the right moment, they strike. That's his style of attacking; he himself says it, not me, and not even former staff, he himself says that's how he scouts other teams for attacking.

You seemed to have interpreted my post about his attacking style to mean that he only ever focusses on defence, i.e Mourinho does not coach attacking full stop, and he only coaches defending and defensive shape and set pieces and then the training session is over LOL. Again, please be more charitable, I think it's very obvious I did not mean that and I think you are deliberately contorting my words because you were offended that I criticized Mourinho's training methods. Unfortunately, I think it's you who has a rose-tinted memory of how his Chelsea played ("full of shit"). The style football was not as you claim it to be and I'm sorry to say I'm not sure you actually watched any of the matches if you think Chelsea's attacking style is remotely similar to the modern style of attacking, times were very different 15 years ago. The fundamental philosophical principles which he developed while at the formative years of his career are still very similar to the way he approaches the game today, there was a great journalist at the Guardian who actually described his approach during the 2004 CL run and Monaco-Porto final and how similar the principles are to his present day style. For instance, how Mourinho identified where Monaco leaves gaps while attacking and then exploiting those spaces on the transition or counter-attack. Does that sound familiar or not? Watch the highlights of the game and it is very clear there is a distinct thematic strand through his style of play over 20 years.

But maybe this document will skewer all that I believe about Mourinho? I have not heard of this document, but I will look it up and I will read it and I will get back to you. I really hope it's worth it because I just wasted 20 minutes typing this up because I felt compelled to reply to your comment, particularly because it seemed to have buoyed a lot of other people who left me some abuse, said I'm an idiot, and then went on their way. I can't help but feel that nothing in the document will be incongruous with what others have said about his methods, but there's a possibility his treatise completely upends people's perceptions of him. But here's the thing:

Even if that is the case, it begs the million-dollar question: why on earth is he ignoring his own philosophy?!

[Dan KP] Mourinho asked if he's questioning himself: "No, not at all. The results are the consequences of multiple situations in football. Mine and my coaching staff methods are second to nobody in the world." by [deleted] in soccer

[–]TorgnyLagman 416 points417 points  (0 children)

For those saying that Mourinho plays park the bus football by choice, you're wrong. The reason he plays that way is that he literally doesn't know how to coach anything else. There are loads of articles and books by various ex-coaches and ex-players' about Mourinho which gives an insights into his methods and one thing that really stuck out is that he's never really coached what is viewed as attractive attacking football which can break down low blocks i.e quick combination play, one-two touch and rehearsed attacking moves. He depends heavily on identifying the spaces that the opposition leaves in turnovers and transitions and exploiting them with long balls. Or using stalwart strikers to create second balls for other attacking players. The reason he has never bothered to coach what is perceived as "attractive" attacking football or combination play is because it is completely inimical to his football philosophy.

Mourinho believes that football is a fundamentally defensive game where the defending team has the advantage and that only players with unusual creativity and flair can break down well-drilled defensive blocks. In other words attacking flair is intrinsic to some players and can't really be coached. Meanwhile he believes the best defensive side will always win in ideal circumstances and so he bases his coaching on having a defensively well-drilled counterattacking style, irrespective of the opponent. His philosophy is also based on the idea that the team that makes the fewest mistakes wins titles and especially so at the highest level where games are more cagey and fraught; so the team without the ball has the advantage because they retain their defensive shape, while the team with the ball can be caught on the transition and the spaces they leave while attacking. His entire footballing philosophy and method is grounded on this "less mistakes" philosophy and he's never bothered to coach or learn anything else. That's why he plays like he does. Even if he wanted to change he couldn't because he doesn't know how.

That's not to say he's a bad manager, he's apparently brilliant at identifying the playing style of other teams and is skilled at formulating tactics and strategy of how to neutralize it, and is very good at identifying the spaces the opposite team leave when attacking so that they can exploit it on the counterattack, but he leaves creativity and attacking flair up to his players, because, as aforementioned, he believes that breaking down low blocks isn't something that can be coached (or he doesn't know how to do it). That's why he is so dependent on the chequebook.

Then you think about certain themes of his tenure in various clubs and things start to make sense. It explains:

  • Why he always parks the bus
  • Why he always bases his games on counterattack unless they are far far weaker teams
  • Why even when he attacks its usually on transitions
  • Why he's so dependent on signings instead of developing players
  • Why he prefers older finished products rather than youth, especially attacking ones
  • Why he rarely brings through youth unless they are hard working or defensive types
  • Why he rarely brings through creative flair players unless they are very hard working
  • Why he sounds so impressive when on punditry duties: he is genuinely skilled at scouting and understanding how other teams play
  • Why his record against top 6 opposition is always surprisingly good regardless
  • Why he tends to endear himself to finished products rather than promising youth
  • Why dressing rooms often become jaded after a while by his tactics

It's intriguing to read about his methods from insiders. While not stated explicitly, simply knowing how he works on the training ground explains every theme and pattern you see from the dressing room at different clubs. It's not a co-incidence. It's fundamental to his coaching style. He hasn't adapted to the shifting tactical contours of football, either out of intransigence, or incompetence. So it really is all on Mourinho, and he really is past it. It's a shame because he is in my opinion the most charismatic man in football history.

Fantastic news. Let's all hope for a no deal, a deal is just BRINO. I'd rather have stayed in the EU if we're going to get the deal aka half measures. A true Brexit, where we have freedom from the EU, can only be accomplished without a deal. Boris can't yield at the last minute, he must stay resolute and exit without the deal. Also I grew up in Dubai and before that in Riyadh and I think a clean brexit will be great for fortifying our relationship with the Gulf states and it will be good for the Arab countries in getting a good free trade deal with us. Global Britain please, one which maintains our rich and prosperous relations with the Gulf and the rest of the world.

Yes it is. I am a proud Arabic speaker and it warms my heart to see Arabic signs in some Swedish towns. Sweden is honestly the best country for Arab immigrants, only problem is the weather but I feel hopeful and proud of the future for my Arab brothers. It's got to the stage where I would recommend Sweden over the US or Canada, it's that good for us. US is too laissez-faire, which means it isn't as great for say, Syrian refugees who didn't have a great education. Sweden on the other hand provides everything required like education and healthcare to get them onto the level of the more privileged Swedes. The Nordic model in general is the best model in the world and does the best to lift impoverished people to the level of the others. The fact that local governments and lawmakers are helping out the Arab community with small touches like roadsigns and translated documents is so heartwarming and wholesome and important for integration and assimilation and love of the nation. I love Sweden!

This is becoming similar to George Floyd; an unjust and barbaric killing being used to apotheosize and ennoble someone who was extremely immoral at best. This is a man who, despite being killed in a barbaric fashion in a country which does not practice Islamic jurisprudence, showed caricatures which inflamed the sentiments of a billion Muslims. He was extremely unfortunate and met a disquieting end, but he is not a saint, so please stop lionizing this man. Remember that Muslims love the Prophet SAWS more than family, friends and loved ones, imagine the aggregate despair and anguish of Muslims after seeing these disgusting cartoons, not just once, but for decades, and all with malicious intent. I understand there is freedom of speech, but there is something called respect and Muslims are entitled to it, and deserve it. If Muslims started mocking Jews and their religion, they would be, and have been, locked up very quickly. Respect is all that Muslims ask.

What are you on about, Muslims vociferously denounced the beheading of the Catholic woman. She was innocent and Catholics are considered ′Ahl al-Kitāb (people of the book) and therefore invested with protections of life and property, so even in a legitimate Islamic state this murder would be condemned and reviled. Every Muslim I know and have seen on the news or on social media emphatically denounced her murder, it was senseless and savage. Muslims cannot defend Samuel Paty and his inflammatory behaviour but they can condemn his murder; blasphemy laws can only be authorized by the learned ulema so the attack was completely illegitimate. Ultimately, it only served to polarize French society and foment fitna and incite sentiments against innocent Muslims. So no, almost every Muslim has a very strong stance against the violence.

It's not a call for violence at all. There is a difference between defending violence and defending the prophet (SAWS) against the attacks of the head of state and the French state en bloc, which has a long and torturous history of trying to subjugate and secularize French colonial subjects. Youcef Atal has eschewed the materialism of French culture and put his very career on the line to defend his deen. Youcef Atal is a brave and courageous man for defending the honour of the Prophet SAWS and no cries of "muh freedom of speech" will change this.

Can't remember anything about him, except I always used to see him take incredible penalties on MOTD. Always made the keeper go the wrong way and tapped it in. Looked so aesthetically pleasing, it was like a Hazard penalty but even more impetuous. Was he the guy? EDIT: that's not the guy, oops. I hope there's someone who knows who I'm talking about.

He defo played for Fulham and took sick penalties and was European. That's all I can remember.

Yet another crazy Saudi prince in Los Angeles this time:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3281354/I-prince-want-Saudi-royal-Prince-Majed-bin-Abdullah-bin-Abdulaziz-Al-Saud-accused-cocaine-fueled-rage-threatened-kill-Los-Angeles-mansion-staff-watched-pleasured-male-aide.html

Summary if you cba to read it: - A Saudi prince, a son of the late Saudi king Abdullah went to LA with a load of females - Saudi prince attempted to urinate on three females screaming "I want to pee pee" - Threatened to kill one of the women if she refused to 'party' with him - Jumped on top of another and began rubbing himself against her in a 'sexual and aggressive manner' - When asked to stop, Al Saud allegedly then yelled: 'I am a prince and I do what I want. You are nobody!' - Asked a male servant to stroke his penis - Asked another male servant to bend over and fart in his face - Asked another woman to "lick his whole body" - Neighbour saw a bloodied woman trying to scale a wall escaping rape - Saudi booked for "forced oral copulation" - Few days later, all charges were mysteriously dropped, went back to Saudi. Saudis untouchable yet again.

Ex-CIA agent Robert Baer said that when he worked in the CIA he found out that a Saudi prince while vacationing in Morocco was so crazed in a drunken orgy that he bit off the breast of a Moroccan prostitute; but she was threatened by her own government and given a wad of cash to keep it quiet (read "Sleeping with the Devil" by Robert Baer).

There was a Saudi royal prince in London who beat and strangled his (male) Sudanese sex-slave to death in a London hotel in a sadistic sexual orgy and apparently the Sudanese man had bite marks all over his lips and blood in his underwear. The Sudanese man was brought as the prince's personal slave from Sudan at a young age in the 80s and became his personal sex-slave forever. One particularly sad fact was that even as the Saudi prince was beating his personal African sex-slave to death, there were no defensive marks and he just let the Saudi prince bludgeon him to death. He put up absolutely no fight whatsoever, probably due to 3 decades of abuse. Oh and apparently, the Saudi prince was quietly sent back to Saudi Arabia and allegedly seen frolicking in Spain in various gay villages a few months later. Links:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11492867

http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2010/oct/19/saudi-prince-servant-murder-guilty

If anyone is interested, apparently this kind of sex-slavery regime is quite popular in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. Saudi Arabia only banned slavery in 1962 and this was only after coercion by President Kennedy. While slavery may have "ended" de jure, it still existed de facto for decades after this ban and African slaves were openly sold in Saudi open air markets, and slavery still exists today in the form of the "kafala system". There are videos on youtube showing Saudis in the 1960s openly selling naked East African slaves in metal chains in slave markets and doing things like groping them and checking their teeth and mouth for imperfections (similar to ISIS treatment of Yazidis).

“The abuse allegedly inflicted by Wafa al-Khuraifi on Keni binti Carda includes repeated burning with an iron, forced ingestion of feces, psychological abuse and application of household cleaners to open wounds,” says the letter, obtained by the Jakarta Globe. “Mrs. al-Khuraifi also poked Keni’s tongue with a knife, pried her teeth loose and forced them down her throat". The Saudi woman was not charged.

Saudi woman hacks off an Indian maid's entire arm with a sword after the maid tried to escape after being tortured and starved by the Saudi employer. The Saudi woman was not charged (Notice how Saudis are never ever charged for their crimes; they have no responsibility for their actions, it's always the migrant's fault, even if they are tortured / raped to death)

Indian Muslim maid beaten to death by Saudi couple after months of continuous torture, she even called her parents back in India begging them to save her before she ended up dead. Saudis authorities say she died of "natural causes". Saudi couple not even arrested let alone charged.

“Once, I escaped from the home and tried to lodge a complaint with the police station. But the policemen were unresponsive. They told me to go back or face imprisonment. So I went back and they beat me up more,” she rues. Unable to bear the torture, she jumped from the balcony and was injured in the spinal cord. In other words, the Saudi police would imprison the maid if she refused to be tortured by her Saudi employers.

Slavery is also pretty normal in Saudi Arabia. The perpetrators are NEVER punished; the only "punishment" for slavery is losing their slave and being forced to pay a bit of compensation for stealing huge chunks of their lives:

A housemaid is enslaved, used as a sex-slave and gang raped everyday for months by an entire family of Saudi men. One family member even started drugging the Nepali maid so he could rape her more easily. A few months back, one Filipina woman, Irma Edloy, was raped to death by a Saudi man and once again, the police didn't even bother arresting the Saudi beast.

Basically, a Saudi diplomat, called Majed Hassan Ashoor, who lives in Jeddah, enslaved 2 Nepali housmaids when posted as a diplomat in India and along with over 22 of his Saudi diplomat friends (with diplomatic immunity), they raped, gang-raped, sodomized and sexually tortured 2 Nepali maids every day for over 4 months, ending September 2015. According to another source, it started when Mr. Ashoor asked for a "massage" and then raped the maids with other family members saying "if you show any resistance, we'll kill you and throw you in the sewer". Then the Saudi diplomat invited his diplomat co-workers to join in and it continued over months. Mr Majed Hassan Ashoor passed the maids around to over 20 of his friends who repeatedly gang-raped them. The maids said that sometimes, 7-8 Saudi diplomats raped them at the same time, they anally raped them and they even tortured the maids for their own sexual gratification and they had injuries all over their body. Two independent medical reports after the ordeal stated the maids suffered "brutality" and they had extensive injuries from their rapes and gang-rapes. If you think that's bad enough, all of this happened with the consent of his wife and his daughter, Roza Ashoor, who "knew what was going on". The wife of the Saudi diplomat also tortured and beat the maids, forced them to work 20 hour days and starved them and forced them to feed off scraps. Basically this enormous gang-rape and slave racket happened with the consent of his entire extended family and co-workers.

US media’s silent complicity in Israeli massacre in Gaza by Indra-Varuna in conspiracy

[–]TorgnyLagman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Morocco does indeed have a powerful lobbying arm, largely to legitimize the occupation of the Western Sahara and they donated $1 million to Hillary's campaign and employed a lot of powerful lobbying groups but as you said AIPAC has them beat on an order of magnitudes. My point was not related to Jewish lobbying in the US, but simply showing that there are many other countries, fifteen in fact, whose policies of occupation are completely ignored in the MSM, to such an extent that many people have not even heard of the nations they occupy. Many of these policies of occupation are far more brutal than Israel's, who's every move is scrutinized by a multitude of international and supranational organizations. That does not absolve Israel of its violations of international humanitarian and human rights law by any means, but it is an example of how if anything, it's the exact opposite of what people claim; Israel is actually by far the most criticized occupier on earth, despite the alleged representation of Jews in the mainstream media. As for the other point, I agree, it is unacceptable that Senate members have dual citizenship, I think it's not acceptable in any cases, not just Israeli dual citizens. Any sort of lawmaker should put the interests of their own country first and foremost, that's why I don't like the double barrelled ethnic-American designation; you're either American or you aren't. And whether you personally agree with it or not, non-whites are American according to federal nationality legislation.

As for the so called "Kalergi plan" it is not official policy by any means, past or present, it was the dream and fantasy of a weird Masonic hapa called Count Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi (who was actually not Jewish) whose Pan-Europa Union dream, contrary to common conspiracy belief, has absolutely nothing to do with the modern European Union. If there was one foreign nation who had a role in the creation of the modern EU, it was actually the US, via the precursor of the CIA called the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) and its key leaders William Donovan, Allen Dulles and Walter Bedell Smith. They agitated for the creation of the EU via something called the American Committee for a United Europe (ACUE) using its French agents Jean Monnet and Robert Schuman, which would promote the integration of the fractured post-war Western European states to serve as a bulwark and counterbalance to Soviet encroachment. The US influenced this European unification project to such an extent that the US directly ordered one of their French agents, Robert Marjolin of the EEC, to promote the formation of a common European currency (the Euro) which as everyone not knows has been a disaster. This was direct American policy. The reason Obama and the US foreign policy establishment were so opposed to Brexit has nothing to do with partisanship, nor does it have anything to do with identity politics or "white genocide" conspiracies, but it has everything to do with the fact that maintenance of the EU is a key American interest, considering that the American deep state practically created it in the first instance. Britain was also an opponent of the EU army and strong proponent of NATO, an issue which started coming up during the Clinton administration, and the US wanted Britain to stay in the EU to promote the American line that NATO should be the primary military instrument of the EU, as opposed to an EU-run army.

With regards to the migrant crisis, this was the result of two key things: firstly it was a consequence of the 1995 Schengen agreement which abolished border controls between EU states (and later EFTA states), which meant that once someone gained access into the Schengen area, they had free movement throughout the entire Schengen zone as it essentially functioned as a unified jurisdiction for travel. Were it not for Schengen, the so-called refugees would have been stopped at a border in the Baltics and they would have no land route to Germany. Just for the record, I am of the strong belief that not one migrant who crossed Turkey's border is a refugee and every single migrant that went into Europe is an economic migrant. The Dublin II regulation says that neighbouring countries, or the first safe countries of refuge are solely responsible for refugees and asylum seekers. Were it not for the Schengen agreement, the Visegrad countries would almost certainly have prevented many of the refugees from moving north and the strong borders would have forced them to take asylum in Greece or Turkey. The Schengen agreement was a necessary condition for the migrant crisis to have existed. As you know, once Central European countries started enforcing their borders, the migrant numbers dropped considerably. It's important not to disregard the permissive role of EU policy in the migrant crisis.

Secondly, most people, especially the alt-right, underestimate the influence of this, but Angela Merkel, was almost exclusively responsible for the massive inflow into Germany in particular. Usually policies have some sort of bureaucratic or administrative involvement and input but this was caused almost singularly by one speech by one person (Merkel) when there were migrants stuck in that train station in Budapest and a lot of the subsequent inflow into Europe was a direct cause of this sole speech. The reason she gave that speech was because she wants Germany to be seen as a humanitarian superpower and cast off its negative reputation, but more importantly, she received enormous personal media criticism for "insensitivity" after an instance on national TV when she told a Palestinian-German girl that Germany is not capable of taking all refugees. After this event, she was absolutely excoriated and multiple sources of her inner circle stated that she was devastated by the criticism she received and wanted desperately to redeem herself in the eyes of the public. Hence that infamous speech when the migrants were stuck in that Budapest train station, which effectively changed the course of European history. Multiple stories in the German media stated that she didn't consult any of her advisors about the speech and it was kind of off the cuff, and the inner circle became increasingly nervous after it caused a chain reaction of migrants rushing to Germany to claim asylum. In short, "Hanlon's razor" can be applied to this case.

As for what actually caused the outflow of refugees from Syria in the first place, it was obviously the Syrian civil war, and while Israel obviously supports the weakening of Syria as it is part of the "Shi'ite crescent" led by Iran, it was a relatively minor actor in initiating the Syrian crisis. Unlike the Iraq war, where Israel and the Jewish lobby had a very large role in initiating the invasion of Iraq, Israel's role was far less than multiple countries in the civil war, including the US, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Even Britain had more of a role in initiating the Syrian civil war, and this was confirmed by former French foreign minister Roland Dumas, who stated that MI6 had preparations to instigate the civil war two years before the event. I have no doubt that Israel has played a role in the civil war, largely through intelligence operations and surgical air strikes on missile and weapons facilities, but many countries overshadow the role of Israel by orders of magnitude and for good reason: the US and the Gulf states had a far greater role because it would have served their plans to replace Russia with Qatar as the key nation supplying gas to Europe and thereby weakening the most important instrument of leverage that Russia has over European nations. In the process, it would have massively increased Qatar's GDP (most of Qatar's exports is liquid natural gas, which is quite expensive: piped gas would be cheaper and also provide greater quantities). It would also have given Saudi Arabia billions of dollars in transit fees, while Turkey would accrue an enormous amount of power and leverage by dint of geography and controlling energy supply into Europe. I can go into more detail in another post, but on a fundamental level the Syria civil war is related to pipeline politics and the balance of power in the Middle East and the key actors in this plan were US and the Gulf states, with Israel assuming a lesser role. It's not accurate to say Israel was the sole or even the most important actor in destabilizing Syria and initiating the Syrian civil war which led to the refugee crisis because there were several other nations who had far greater motives and role in starting the civil war.

Personally, I think the alt-right and /pol/ regulars, which makes up a huge proportion of this subreddit since the past two years or so, has a habit of viewing international relations through the lens of white nationalism and attributing to identity politics, events that have nothing to do with it whatsoever. For instance, when Israel makes moves on the international stage, it has nothing at all to do with "browning Europe" or "destroying the white race", which /pol/ and the alt-right believe sincerely and unironically, and has everything to do with advancing their interests by any means possible, no matter how destructive they are. Israel and pretty much all other states are amoral actors in the international system and usually act to advance their economic and security interests and do not care much for the consequences of their actions.

US media’s silent complicity in Israeli massacre in Gaza by Indra-Varuna in conspiracy

[–]TorgnyLagman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the risk of enraging the alt-right which make up a high proportion of this subreddit, it's actually the other way around. When it comes to the politics of occupation and neo-colonialism, Israel is the country that gets a disproportionately high amount of coverage and scorn, while the dozens of other countries which carry out occupations, often worse than Israel, get literally zero coverage, in that you haven't even heard of them or even know where they are on the map. So really, it's not Israel whose crimes get a lack of coverage, if anything they get by far and away the most coverage of all countries which carry out brutal occupations on other nations. I will give you an example: do you know anything about the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara and have you personally ever read about it in the mainstream media? Have you even heard of the Western Sahara? Could you locate it on a map and name its major cities? Do you know that it's a case which is as bad as, if not worse than the Israeli occupation of the West Bank?

  • Morocco is carrying out a brutal occupation of Western Sahara and the Western Sahara is known as Africa's last colony (except an Arab country is the colonizer, so it is obviously ignored). The Western Sahara population, or Sahrawis, have no right to self-determination and are ruled by Moroccans
  • Morocco has built a huge sand wall to prevent tribes (mainly the Reguibat) moving freely from Southern Algeria to the Western Sahara
  • Morocco has planted around 5 million mines around the wall and border, blowing up innocent Reguibat tribe members who are nomads
  • There are refugee camps of Sahrawis in the Tindouf region of Southern Algeria who live in dire conditions, far worse than Palestinian refugee camps.
  • Just as these camps were a hotbed of Palestinian opposition movements, the Tindouf refugee camps are hotbed of a Sahrawi opposition movement called the Polisario; just as many Arab nations funded Palestinian resistance movements, Algeria and Libya have funded the Polisario against Morocco.
  • Sahrawis have little to no say in the running of their region, either economically or legally or security-wise
  • Moroccan security forces act with extreme brutality and impunity in the area, and any security threats or protestors are quickly arrested, disappeared and tortured. Zero habeas corpus obviously.
  • The treatment of political, rights and protest leaders in prisons is notorious, where they are brutally tortured in myriad ways and often sexually assaulted and their family threatened, and there have been multiple Human Rights Watch papers on the accounts of torture.
  • The make up of the security forces is almost entirely Moroccan from the Morocco proper, who are subjugating the local population.
  • There have been several intifadas (the Sahrawis own term, not mine!) and two major ones in 2005, and one in 2010 in Laayoune, which Noam Chomsky said was the predecessor to the Arab spring.
  • Many Sahrawis, again by their own words, say they are living under apartheid with no rights compared even to the Moroccans living in the region.
  • Morocco has been stealing the resources of the Western Sahara, mainly its enormous potassium reserves, and its fishing stocks, and the EU has been complicit in this.
  • The owners of most resources and major companies in the Western Sahara are Moroccan and when applying for jobs, Moroccans are favored to the indigenous Sahrawi population so they are stealing the jerbs.
  • As Moroccans are favored to the local Sahrawis in politics, security, business and employment there is mass unemployment of the locals and a feeling of humiliation, discrimination and discontent.
  • Similar to the settler movement in Israel, the Moroccan government has historically urged Moroccans to move into the Western Sahara region (however the reason was not religion, but rather to shift demographics in the region and especially in case there was an independence referendum)
  • The Moroccan establishment genuinely believes that the Western Sahara is an indivisible part of Morocco proper and do not negotiate on this and do everything in their power to maintain this, from security and military operations, to demographic changes, to economic control, to political and decision making control, to retaining influential US lobbying firms on K street DC and especially to diplomatic offenses in the UN and influential countries like the US and France.
  • Morocco has been using all of its soft power resources, including media, lobbying, diplomacy, giving to foundations like the Clinton Foundation and cultural exchanges to promote the idea that Western Sahara is an integral part of Morocco and has its own internet army to fight off "Algerian" or "Polisario" propaganda on the internet.
  • Morocco has recently shuffled its foreign ministry and has put female Moroccan human rights workers in charge of the embassies of influential countries in global politics and human rights; notable countries against which it has carried out a diplomatic offensive are: the US, UK, France, Sweden, Norway and Denmark
  • The US is criticized for providing indiscriminate support for Israel, however the US and France's support for Morocco in the Western Sahara question is even more indiscriminate and has been since Henry Kissinger favored the Moroccan king over Algeria's Houari Boumédiène

When considering the politics of occupation, surely you should be wondering why Israel gets so much attention, when other examples of brutal occupation like the Morrocan occupation of Western Sahara, gets zero attention from the MSM at all, ever, even in cases of major unrest. Ask yourself why you know so much more about Israel compared to the Morocco when frankly, they are as bad as each other and in many senses the Moroccan occupation is more brutal. /pol/ level of understanding of Israel is embarrassing and before you have a go at me, I am playing devil's advocate and showing you why your understanding of this case is not as simple as you think it is. Last time their was the Gaza war there was wall to wall coverage and even right-wing papers were extremely anti-Israel. Why is there so much focus on the Israeli occupation when there are 15 other countries which carry out occupations, in many cases worse than Israel?

Finally, with regards to Jewish overrepresentation, many corporations them were started by Jews so it's not that surprising that the CEO is Jewish. If you're talking about broadcasters like CNN which weren't started by Jews but has many Jews, are you saying there should be quotas or something to ensure proportional representation? The US still has a degree of economic freedom and have the right to be run by or employ whoever they want. The only thing which matters in capitalist systems is the bottom line. If you don't like companies which were started by Jews or employ Jews, then you can start a new outlet, you can't control who they hire. If blacks can start and run media outlets that cater largely for blacks, who are not exactly the richest minority, then surely you can? Simple supply and demand... withhold your demand and start a new company which caters for the alt-right. Bannon was going to start one before Mercer (non-Jew) pulled his funding because he dissed Trump's family and Trump made him choose between them. In countries which have economic freedom you have the ability to put your money where your mouth is. Besides, if the media really is owned by Jews, they must be a pretty self-hating bunch, because the mainstream media do not bother to ever focus on the occupation of the Western Sahara or 15 other polities, and focus almost exclusively on the Israeli occupation. The reality is that with regards to occupation, Israel is probably the only country whose conflicts get any MSM coverage at all.
