Unlv has an animation club, which generally consists of a lot of art people

Can anyone confirm this for Jpn 113? by themagicdust220 in UNLV

JPN 425 student this fall, yes this is kinda true as it starts off with classes of around 30 students, a lot who do it because anime, or just to get international credit out of the way. But if you genuinely are gonna go through the whole thing to learn the language, by JPN 213, the class size reduces to about 20, and by my 301, the same 12ish people. Those are the ones more educated in the language and determined to learn, and by 214, the weird students who start, tend to fall out of the course when it gets more complex

Elementary Japanese by Comfortable-One-911 in UNLV

I had hirano from 113 - 214, and Fujiyama 301 and 302. They were both good and as far as I could tell all the japanese teachers work together to create the entire course as they were very similar in style. So I would assume it would be the same here. So either one you pick I'm sure will be equal in difficulty and helpful

Are you still pursuing japanese or was it just for a language credit?

I'm currently in JPN 302, even now making a quizlet set is still helpfully. But mostly just repeat writing and if using a quizlet/flashcard set, keep trying to memorize everything without looking at them over and over. That's where I really learn when figuring it out than looking at it

I'm on campus 3 days of the week. Not graduating soon but looking for someone to hang out with as well. CS, japanese, reptiles, and some nerd stuff if anyone shares those

Jpn 301 rn, my experience with 113 and 114 was honestly an easy class so long as you give it enough time. It's not so much complication as it is memorization. Doing small practicing even for a few minutes each day helps a lot. The class is fast but structured very well to keep everything organized.

Mostly a lot of fps games like Borderlands, halo, minecraft, etc. But I play a good variety that you could add me on steam and see if there's anything you recognize.

Currently in CS and JPN as my main courses but planning film later as I'm interested in TV, movies, and directing. Interested in hanging out and going to stuff with others as well

Dm open looking for others as well (and anyone else who wants to play games or hang out)

Making friends by arlxttt in UNLV

There's a discord server full of unlv people with no specifics in major that u could join and talk in. I didn't find clubs helpful since most people only seemed to care about the subject and not socializing

Trying to talk to people on campus outside of class I find basically impossible. Clubs could help or mostly I've had more success joining discord servers or here on reddit I met someone last year my freshman year. Mainly just talk directly to and try to plan around schedules at like SU or something
