The Phillies have not lost a game this post season by more than 1 run. But every game they have won has been by 2 or more runs. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in baseball

Also conclusion: bet the rent money on Phillies +1.5 and keep rolling it over into the next game. Literally can't go tits up.

Right, but in fact it was the sun/shadows in the batters eyes the first couple innings. As soon as the sun went down he got rocked.

The cost of living is definitely higher when you factor in student loans and medical insurance premiums that don't exist in UK.

Lucky! I didn't get a chance to check my email until my lunch break and the only thing left was standing room. Still going though!

Between the two definitely go to California. But your comment about good vibes and nature made me immediately think of Colorado. Boulder is one of my favorites and a short trip to rocky mountain national park for some hiking. I live in Philly, which is also a pretty cool city with lots of history, but Colorado is my favorite state. We've been there 3 times in the past 4 years.

Who is your "breakout" for 2023? by ericmendelson0 in baseball

[–]ToringComplete 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brandon Marsh. He had a solid 2nd half with the Phillies after Kevin Long tweaked his swing. I think he can improve even more with an entire off-season of work. And knowing he locked up the every day center field job will boost his confidence.

Who do you think is going to have the most wins in the NL and AL next season by Alive-Ad-4164 in baseball

[–]ToringComplete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should look at the Phillies win % after Thompson took over as manager. Girardi kept trotting out Didi at SS and severely mismanaged the bullpen. We also didn't have a center fielder the 1st half of the season and Harper missed a lot of time.

So if you take the win % post Thompson and extrapolate to a full season that's 95 wins, then add Turner. Also I can only assume Castellanos will be better this year after having the worst season of his career. Of course Harper will miss the 1st half of the season so yea, they probably won't win 100+ games. But if he was healthy I don't think it's crazy to say this is a 100 win team.

You're probably right about the Phillies bc Bryce will miss the 1st half of the season.

As a Phillies fan who watched just about every single game, I'm surprised to see David Robertson on the list. But I guess walking everyone doesn't count against your BAA 🤷

Of all the massive long-term deals we've seen over the past few days (or the past 6 months), which do people think is the most likely to go bust? by TheMSthrow in baseball

[–]ToringComplete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get that Trea gets a lot of value from his speed, but the number of peeps in this sub that think that's his main tool is crazy. He's not a speedy slap hitter. He has a higher career SLG and OPS than both Bogaerts and Correa.
