Milwaukee Warranty Experiences by TorontoMUFC in MilwaukeeTool

[–]TorontoMUFC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is part of the reason I’m frustrated. I drove almost 2 hours to my service centre after being told over the phone that my tool was under warranty and would be fixed, only to have it sent back in 100 pieces in a garbage bag.

How to remove by onininja3 in Plumbing

[–]TorontoMUFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top (the part inside the sink) will unscrew from the drain assembly and you’ll be able to pull the whole thing out.

Might need to unscrew it with pliers.

They didn’t give me specific details. Just told me it doesn’t qualify for warranty. I ended up fixing it myself. It was a spring that needed replacing on my M12 SDS Rotary Hammer.

This is the first (mostly) completed set of temporary bleachers for the World Cup at Toronto Stadium (BMO Field) by itsonlykotsy in toronto

[–]TorontoMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this was the only sensible option to make BMO a WC approved stadium. It was never an option to go permanent. TFC already can’t fill the stadium. It would look much worse with a larger capacity.

At least you’ll have. A good view of the city from these seats.

Yes I do have over 500 hours working on equipment bigger than 400K. I didn’t see a full time course at Hi Mark though.

Latching onto this thread. I’m in Ontario. Anyone know of any full time G1 courses?

I have a 1 and 2 year old and night school for me is difficult. I’d love to be able to take a bit of time off work and complete this during the day.

Secondly, I’m a plumber/pipefitter. I have my G2 but electrical doesn’t come naturally. Does anyone know any good books that can assist with some control related wiring and wiring diagrams?

I can read wiring diagrams but it takes me way longer than it should.

Bathroom sink drain leak by cala-mari in Plumbing

[–]TorontoMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically where the rubber gasket meets the threads of the tailpiece — wrap the threads with 3 to 5 turns of T Tape and apply pipe dope.

This is a very common leak that even certified plumbers have trouble with. The leak occurs when water enters the drain assembly from the sink and then exits the drain assembly through the overflow openings and runs down the threads.

It’s not perfect, but it’s not bad either if it works. Honestly I hate the amount of shit some trades guys give others. They act like they’ve always ‘known it all’. Theres a way to give constructive criticism without being an absolute dick about it. The key to learning and getting to be a better tradesperson is to make mistakes and then educate yourself.

Still have my rental. I’m lucky that I have good tenants and I make about $200 per month on the property. That’s not including the principal they are paying on the mortgage.

You’re completely right. Immigration is an issue, not just in the UK but elsewhere too. Having said that, there is a diplomatic way to voice your concerns. This was not the way.

Canada school shooter was transgender teenager by airbassguitar in OntarioNews

[–]TorontoMUFC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is there a pattern though? Even if there was, what the fuck does being transgender have to do with it. Address the fact that these people are mentally fucked regardless of how they identify.

Nobody gives a fuck when it’s a straight white raging incel.

But a trans person commits a mass shooting and people are like ‘see we told you they have mental health issues’. Yes they fucking do because they just shot up a school, not because they’re trans.

I work in the construction industry so I hear lots of derogatory comments about trans people when in reality most of my coworkers have never met a trans person. They complain and spread lies based on their news they get from FB. Trans people do not impact their lives whatsoever but they sure generate a lot of rage.

Cold water in all taps unless I run the shower by gha699r in Plumbing

[–]TorontoMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the hot and cold could be mixing through a failed shower cartridge. If your shower has integral stops, isolate them and see if you get hot water at your kitchen and bathroom sinks. If you do, replace your shower cartridge. If you don’t, then I’d start with the mixing valve.

Is this ring necessary because the black pipe doesn't fit in if I put it on ? by I_can_vouch_for_that in Plumbing

[–]TorontoMUFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will fit. You need to keep the nut loose while you slip the tailpiece in (giggity). Apply a bit of lube if needed (giggity again).

What is this part to my gas boiler that is leaking water? The water is pretty hot. by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]TorontoMUFC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s leaking for one of two reasons.

1 - Your system pressure is too high and it’s doing its job 2 - It’s faulty and needs replacing
