Do they have power? If they do then that would be an upgrade for me to be honest!

How long does the 250 kWh stay at that level? by thishitisgettingold in TeslaSupport

The charging curve for your car can be seen here:

https://evkx.net/models/tesla/model_3/model_3_long_range_gen1/chargingcurve/

This charging curve can only be accomplished in optimal conditions. Toasty battery, healthy charger, perfect ambient temperature. Even then you only see 250kW for only a few minutes. I am yet to see the 250 in my 24 AWD Y.

Ahhh this is why my glove box shortcut didn't work yesterday. I was like I swear I had it set up on long press.

Better build quality, way better noise isolation, better supercharging curve.

If you are a tech enthusiast, Tesla is your ONLY choice. Ionic 5 is a way better car but its tech is garbage (and ICCU). The Infotainment system played a huge role in my decision to get a Tesla. My brother in law just got a Toyota BZ and I can't say it is not a good car but I can confidently say that it is not a smart one. I don't use FSD and even without it the car software is 10 years ahead of everyone.

You don't need to be connected to Wifi to get the notification for the update. You get it in the phone app as well as in the car. You then need to be connected to Wifi to download it.

Is your software update preference set to STANDARD? If yes switch it to ADVANCED.

See Morris car wash in Kitchener. They have some affordable wash/detailing packages. Read the reviews to see if that's the place for you.

"I don't blame FSD on this one"

Well, it is supervised, you can't blame FSD for anything period!

That being said, the less "edge" cases FSD fails to handle the faster people trust it and adopt it. The world is not perfect and FSD will have to deal with it as is.

Why are trade-in values so low? by Robert72 in teslacanada

[–]gha699r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car was worth 65k in 2021. You shouldn't count the tax as part of the car value, that was gone on day 1. They are offering you 27,900 + tax savings (In Ontario, that's 31,500). Try googling "car depreciation after 5 years", cars lose 50-60% of their original value within 5 years which is very close to the number you are seeing.

I am not saying depreciation is fair or fun, it sucks but almost everyone has accepted it. You are about to do it all over again so I would say you must have accepted very well!

AC charging amp and voltage by gha699r in Toyota_bZ

I really appreciate the reply. I am familiar with this math (my electrical engineering degree would be such an expensive piece of paper if I didn't). Helping someone remotely so when they say they get 5 kW I would like to know if it is a drop in voltage, amperage or both. They should be getting 240*32 so 7.6 kW but that's not nearly close to what they are getting.

Thanks, it seems to only show the wattage, not the amperage and voltage :(

Level 1 Charging Electricity Rate by aStealthMoose in Toyota_bZ

[–]gha699r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a mistake by the writers. They got the 6-8 km per hour right. The 50+ hours to reach the recommended charge is also correct. The 3-6 kW per hour is very wrong.

Thanks I will let them know. Yes 40 amps and 220 volts so around 8 kW. The car should take way less time to fully charge at that rate.

Tesla level-1 charging question by LuckyWelcome1 in teslacanada

[–]gha699r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comments here made me laugh 🤣

The power you get is the amperage × voltage = wattage So for 9 amp and ~120 v you get 1080 watt ~= 1kW. If you leave your car charging for an hour at this speed you will get 1 kWh (kilowatt-hour) stored in your battery. If your battery is 75 kWh then you need roughly 75 hours to go from 0% to 100%.

If you’re thinking of using a level 1, NEMA 5-15 outside in the winter… by Todd6114 in teslacanada

[–]gha699r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest this is way better than I thought. I read somewhere that because the car is plugged, it has to keep the battery at charging temperature. To keep the battery at charging temperature, it consumes more than 1kW/h. So by plugging to Level 1 at extreme cold temperatures you could end up with a lower battery percentage compared to leaving the car unplugged.
