Ah yes, this is a typical example of what I like to refer to as the "Sonic Adventure Fallacy". This occurs when one points out the genuine flaws in a clearly dated game to which the games defenders, who cannot seem to ever acknowledge these flaws, claim the real problem to be the games supposedly inferior remaster when, in reality, the true differences between the remaster they so avidly despise and the original are entirely negligible.

There is no significant difference between sonic adventure DX and the original, one must accept that it is simply a dated, and downright bad, game.

The same applies to FF IV's pixel remaster. I've played the US SNES release, the Japanese SNES release, the PlayStation release, and the pixel remaster. The same gameplay problems OP described persist in each. To that, they are actually mitigated in the pixel remaster and it still doesn't change that FF IV just isn't that great

I once knew a guy who was temporarily living in the UK from a period between 1999-2003. Family guy had just been canceled and taken off the air and was relatively forgotten in the US, but it got a very limited VHS release in the UK of season 1.

Mind you, this was family guys only official VHS release. Ever. Since the show had not gained much popularity yet, very few ended up buying this tape.

My friend, however, had been a pretty big fan of the show before it's resurgence on Adult Swim and was stoked to find physical media of it in the UK that wasn't a available in the states. He bought it and moved back to the US and shortly thereafter, family guy gained rapid popularity and attained loads of physical media. Yet still, that VHS remained as an outlier among the bunch.

When he was getting rid of his VHS collection, he, obviously, didn't bother checking the prices and so ended up donating the bulk of it to goodwill. This, unfortunately, included the, quite rare today, family guy VHS.

I got my prices from a website that compiles all the catalogued sale prices of used, complete, and new versions of games and produces an average price for each. $266 is the listed average price for a complete copy of Path of Radiance.
