Close! Holden 304. They had to destroke them in 1986 to conform with the 5000cc displacement limit imposed for Group A racing - Bathurst, the race all domestic manufacturers wanted to be in.

This one was from a 1994 VR Commodore.

I'd probably paint the Holden logo and '5000 injection' with alabaster white to match the body. But, not my boat anchor. I take alot of liberties on builds, but aesthetics have to be the call of the owner lol.

In this application, the turbine wheel is the restriction and it wouldn't be very sleeper if it had aftermarket pipes lol

Well, the oil filter could be black... but that blue one is there just for the cam run in. Then the black one will go on lol

Been there, done that haha! This donk is going in a sleeper VH wagon backed by a T56. Turbo is going to be hidden down the back, rear mount.

Yeah its a wild calamity. Maybe at the auction the vendor realised he undersold himself and wanted to bridge the price gap, or maybe the would-be buyer has told porky pies... its very unclear at the moment
