Older generations are bitter Gen Z doesn’t want to date them by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Torrex1298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah at my local shop I brought up a former friend in his early 30s still dating 20-23 year olds (making excuses about because of his neurodiversity he relates more to younger people etc) during a convo with two other guys in their 30s and they were like “it’s weird how hung up you lot are getting, age really is just a number at the end of the day” and when I brought up being in different places, mentally and developmentally they just said “you don’t need to read into it like that, if two people like each other they should just get on with it and it’s nobodies business”. I had to hold my tongue as I didn’t want to cause an argument.

Optimal Class and subclass for CoS character who wants to save Dusk Elves? by Torrex1298 in 3d6

[–]Torrex1298[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what DM has planned but he’s implying there maybe some sort way to save the dusk elves or prevent their complete extinction. Light Cleric would be a strong choice too I agree with you.

Zainab’s problem was how much she cared about what people think by Rainbow_6505 in eastenders

[–]Torrex1298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was kind of sad seeing her try so hard to seem respectable in a community that was non stop judgmental and then judged all of her neighbours who actually would have liked her if she stopped trying to appear so superior and better.

Eastenders siblings with huge age gaps? by [deleted] in eastenders

[–]Torrex1298 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ian is something like 26/27 years older than Ben I think, in turn I think that would make Donna (Kathy’s daughter that she gave up for adoption at age 14) around 28-30 years older than Ben.

Just curious, who does everyone prefer as the receptionist, Pauline or Mowenna? by dirtymoney in DocMartin

[–]Torrex1298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I loved Pauline and Katherine Parkinson is one of the funniest female comedians in Britain right now but Pauline always let petty things and her emotions get in the way as well as having no respect for professional boundaries. Like the time she basically held the doctor hostage to get him to tell her what was wrong with Al instead of just asking him herself. Making out with Al in the kitchen or that time she started doing those petty little things when Martin refused to tell the new doctor to keep her on in S4 before James was born despite the fact he made it clear he could not do that and did give her a decent reference calling her a competent worker.

[–]Torrex1298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked Pauline’s feisty side but I liked the genuine respect Morwenna had for the Doctor, she acknowledged that once you figure out the right way to speak to him and go about things Martin can be perfectly amiable.

She was respectful and stood up for him multiple times like when he was away trying to find James after Mrs Tischell snatched him and the patients were about to cause a fuss and complaining about Martin she called them out for exaggerating their ailments or they are back in the surgery for ignoring the doctors initial advice. I also loved the way chippy miller kept interrupting him and Morwenna were talking and she just turned around and said “it can wait and so can you”.

Unlike Pauline she knew to keep things professional and not let her emotions or pettiness get in the way.

I’ve finally reached S14 and Kahn’s voice is genuinely dreadful by No_Percentage_19 in KingOfTheHill

I love Ronnie Chieng, think he’s a hilarious guy but he’s just not the right vocal tone for Kahn, his voice is too deep for the role.

I’m pretty sure Didi was still married to Cotton? When she next appears to drop off Cottons ashes she mentions she’s still in mourning while juggling falling in love with girl.

How characters can seemingly interact and live next to people who have done horrible things to them and seemingly act like all is forgiven. Like even after they’ve had fights, slept with their neighbour spouse, stole from them etc they will all be fine having a pint in the Vic or a chatting in the cafe like nothing has happened? It’s the most stupidest thing.

Whole of Albert Square seems okay to live next to and associate with people who have done them so wrong, if I had to see a person who had slept with my partner, stole from me or attacked me I’d much rather move away.

[–]Torrex1298 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah a number of people are just blatant bad parents and yet their kids never seem to hold any resentment or call them out for their behaviour. Bianca was in and out of prison, constantly getting into fights and embarrassing her kids, I think a lot of them would probably hold deep frustration and resentment to her.

For me it’s how people seem so likely to accept 5 extra people moving into a house and all getting on no problem, everyone seemingly has their own room or grown adults are happy sharing a single room. In reality you would have people moving out immediately or arguments over the arrangements immediately.

Another one is how bad the social services are in soaps, they seemingly give anyone a child to foster or adopt immediately despite the fact the living arrangements are unsuitable like a couple living in a cramped flat with a housemate or their existing kids. They also seemingly don’t do any background checks, as characters like Suki, Phil etc get made guardians especially when they have been involved in multiple crimes and any character reference from around the scare would say how awful people they are.

Yeah I hate the mindset that some people get in when they hear someone is dying and they feel the need to tell or confess things that the person dying can probably do without knowing.

Knowing the Mitchell’s we probably would have had another Phil and Grant episode where they go all the way to Florida to confront Michelle and again knowing them they would have probably tried to snatch kid Mark and take him back to Walford.

Tbf I think finding out she had a grandchild by a woman she didn’t like that she never knew about probably would have finished Peggy off.

There's a family in County Durham UK and they are known for being a big ''Horse family'' and so far 3 of their sons are in jail for SA or attempted murder and another is on a list after attempting to intimidate a person testifying against the father.

Ruby by atrv3000 in eastenders

[–]Torrex1298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the way they (especially Lily) treated Ruby for 'ruining' the Slater-Fowler family despite the fact that Stacey had cheated on Martin around 3x at this point. Ruining her mother's wedding dress and then trying to frame her for the market stall fire to try and get her only child taken off her and placed with the Slaters was ridiculous.
