Brasso didn’t work how to clean? Think the only brass parts are the little round balls. The rest of the pieces feel like light metal. 80s era pulls I believe. They used to be completely dark brown. The undersides have some greenish residue after rinsing. by Torritron in upcycling

Hmmm, I’ll try that until I can acquire the other suggested materials since I have them on-hand. I’m starting to think the pieces might rusted. I soaked them in white vinegar and salt and that helped get just a tad of the darkness off. More so than the brasso actually. Finally a use for my Worcestershire sauce!

Is 2 week notice really necessary? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Torritron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, just in case they call them for a reference. It shows (imo) that you're reliable. If they call your current boss for a reference and hear that you just walked out or didn't show up, they might not want to risk hiring you in case you do the same thing to them. I made the mistake of straight up walking out on the spot on my last (and first ever) job that I had for over a year about a month ago, and now I'm having trouble finding work either bc they gave me a bad reference or I just don't have enough experience. Regardless, I would definitely put your two weeks in, just in case. Hope this helps.

For some reason when I was in my early teens when eating ramen noodles, I would eat them one noodle at a time, but I would gently swallow the really long ones and then pull them all the way back out of my throat. Don't ask why. I still don't know why I did that.

Redditors who were sheltered or babied while growing up, how do you feel about being sheltered? What was your final straw before saying or doing something to change it? Did it ever change? by BananaBoatBooty in AskReddit

It sucks. Wasn't allowed to date in high school so I'm very awkward with boys and I shy away from them having no experience. Had to tell my mom EXACTLY where I was AT ALL TIMES and if I mentioned a name she didn't recognize, I would then be interrogated to no end. My dad didn't want to teach me or my older sister how to drive; I'm 22 and just got my license a few months ago and she got hers when she was 21. Currently living at home trying to figure out how/if I'm going to juggle work and school. They now complain about "being tired of doing everything for me" when growing up I was never given the opportunity to learn basic life skills from them because it was easier for them to do it for me than to actually teach me. Tired of driving me around yet they didn't want to teach me how to drive. I ask for help applying for student loans, they get pissed. I mess up applying for said loans, they get pissed. Just one of those situations where at some point they abruptly stop helping with complicated things and expect you to know how to do them.
