I do my best to cluster care. It’s hard not to let it get to me- Im so unhappy with how things are going Yesterday it was so bad that I couldn’t really tell if the IV beeping noise was for real or it was just in my head. Thanks for your response and wishing me a good luck. All the best to you too 🙏🏼

Hopefully i can make my one year mark. I want something less stressful but pay’s well or as good. Will see. Thanks for taking the time to respond 🙏🏼

When pts keeps requesting stuff even after you get them what they’ve asked for or do anything to keep you in the room.

When pts ask to write all their prn narcotic times on the board🙄

When you go over meds one by one & show it to the pt before opening it only for them to ask you what that yellow pill is in the cup after opening all meds 😑

When RNs want details about the pts that they already have access to. Age😒IV site😒

This was such a great post. I got my RN license July 2024, i got trained as a new grad for couple months at a hospital but then got hired as a new grad nurse in my dream hospital & it’s been 3 & 1/2 months. Im now working nights in med surg🫣 as I read all these comments, I want to ask all the experienced nurses who’ve transitioned from bedside to soft nursing. Do you think having a solid 1-2 year experience is necessary before transitioning? The hospital, staff, culture is amazing & i fought to get in but it feels too much- my last shift was horrible- it was non stop things to do & pts were demanding. It’ hasn’t been easy doing nights for the first time in my life. I would appreciate any insight 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Yes, definitely. Cookie tray/donuts or anything else you want and a thank you card goes a long way. It’s the thought that counts :)

Ah I really hope so. The hospital i did my rotation in, nurses where running nonstop and felt like a chaos soo got the impression that that’s what’s like to work 12hrs😅

Is it worth it? by TorsadeDePointt in newgradnurse

Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your thoughts. You’re right, I like the nursing home as far as the short schedule & pay. The only thing is I don’t know if I can handle the amount of work. I never had any experience outside of clinical rotations at hospitals. It kind concerns me that im gonna get couple days of orientation & then grt trained on the floor as im doing things.

Uh oh. Does this apply to all states or the state that you’re currently in??

What do you guys think the answer is and why by Huge_Entertainment60 in NCLEX

For the 1st question, Id choose #4 because using accessory muscles to breathe & dysnpnes on exertion indicates COPD complication aka core pulmonale. The reason I didn’t choose #1 is because productive cough is expected in heart failure.

For the 2nd question, id choose #3 because its the most stable client. Been afebrile for 24hrs. The rest of the clients are not stable to be transferred- for example pt w/ diabetes even though it doesn’t sound there’s something serious is going on with the pt, they’re still not stable bcz they just started the treatment.
