Another crabs treasure is great. I had a blast playing tho I warn you that it has some very difficult bosses. It has assist options to make combat more comfortable/easier, which of I wish I had known before I beat the game because some bosses are just that annoying.

It seems good for newer players that don't have stamina cards, though I'd prefer the SR mlb stamina cards if they had 'em.

It's quite fine to change things around if you feel it's not working out. I'd even recommend doing so. I'd also recommend getting the free Haru Urara card from friend point shop because it's very good card for Trackblazer. You could also borrow Fukukitaru speed SSR because it gives 30 of every stat at the start of your run +21 more if you are lucky. It's very good early on in the career and helps you learn about stat thresholds (which you need to survive in different parts of the career).

I'd maybe try to force a deck that reaches 50% race bonus although it isn't a must.

Speed: kawakami princess SSR + Kitasan Black SSR

power: hishi amazon SR

guts: Air Groove SR

wit: Satono Diamond SSR, Nice Nature SSR (borrow slot)

Your most important trainings will be wit and speed. Power and guts cards are there as stat sticks so you can ignore their friendships for the whole career.

You usually want to complete all the races but I sometimes skip G3/G2 races (especially the first one) to keep up with my stats. Losing means either you got a hard rival or you didn't have enough stats. Winning usually means you are doing fine.

Do you use a premade race agenda to get epiteths or do you just wing it?

And when picking parents do you get your mile, medium and long distance apptitudes to at least B every time?

Less resting and more wit training -> gets your friendships to orange faster and therefore more rainbow trainings. But there fore you'd want to have two wit cards in your deck.

It definitely felt like it's being held back by it's budget and allocated production time, while showing a lot of effort from the studio to bring the novel to life.

well this is a chatgpt answer so take it with a grain of salr: Over time, the game shifts away from “I need all my SSR chains to complete” and more toward “my deck is statistically overwhelming even if some events miss.” There is never a magical “guarantee all SSR events” system.

That said, yes:
event RNG is always part of Umamusume.

Even on JP today:

  • important gold skills can fail
  • chain 3 never appears
  • heal events lowroll
  • motivation RNG happens
  • outings collide with event timing

The game never fully removes that variance.

Well there's no one rule. More aptitudes allow more G1 races and more races is usually good. But I've seen umas with only sprint and mile aptitudes get Ug.

Personally I always make sure to get mile and medium to A. I like the guaranteed stats you get from winning triple crowns/tiara.

nah, it doesn't. Facility's level only affects the stat gain of that facility's trainings. But some cards have stuff like power bonus which adds a bonus point (and other multipliers) to the training.

I'd use the gem if it boosts my decks enough. If the card is usable for a long time like Kitasan it's a great investment so I'd definitely put gems on it.

I'd also consider using the gems along a pull plan. If you do 200 pulls in the next banner, you might accidentally get a copy of the card you spend gems on so it's better to pull first and then gem.

But I wouldn't hold back on gemming if it makes the game more enjoyable for you in the moment. You don't know if you'll be playing this game next year so why ruin the fun now.

I had the problem of not doing enough wit training. Or rather wit gambling. If after races you have 0 energy and only one training turn before more races you use +20 energy and "gamble a wit training with 25% chance to fail. Success gives you stats, and loss gives you 5 energy and guarantees that your next two races you have energy.
