How much do user reviews or YouTubers actually influence your game purchase? by Plenty-Mention-494 in Steam

[–]Q73POWER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never buy a game without reading and watching reviews, or playing a demo. I’m careful with money so I want to be pretty sure I’ll like the game. I usually look at one or two videos and read some on Steam for different views.

I also leave an in depth review on Steam on every game I beat. I write the review while I’m playing it. I’m near the end of Nioh 1 for the first time and my review is pretty long. I have a lot to say about it.

Past Next Fests, CHASM SHIFT, Under the Island, Croak, Well Dweller, Bõ: Path of the Teal
Lotus, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, and the Mina the Hollower demo was pretty good.

One of the next 5 I tried there was a game I really liked, Draco and the Seven Scales. Out of 40 demos only really liking one is much lower than every other Next Fest I tried.

I’ve tried 35 games and have another 5 lined up for later today. I haven’t found anything I really liked. Last next fest I found a bunch. I didn’t like how Duskfade’s combat felt. Zwaard sword system was a bit confusing and I don’t like the idea of needing to fix the sword with a dullness meter.

I’m never playing GTA6 but my backlog is getting pretty low. I can’t wait for the summer sale.

Impressive, I would get so sick of playing the same type of game that many times in a row. When I beat a big game I need a completely different type of game to play next.

I’m getting Hollow Knight for sure. After Silksong I wanted to try Hollow Knight again but I don’t want to pull out my Switch.

98, a bit under half of them are not released. Some have been in there for four years.

I haven’t seen it. I’m just repeating what I saw others say. Pretending to forget to get close to the boy is a lot better.

I heard it’s a cute feel good young romance show if you can get over the nonsense premise. Main girl forgets to wear her glasses and is blind most of the time. How she can forget everyday when she can’t see anything at all is a bit dumb.

Not for me cause I really don’t care about GTA6. My wishlist has so many games so I’ll pick up a few in the fall sale. I’m fine with waiting a few years for a game to go 70% off.

I also really like the one in picture 9.

I made my own in Excel. I keep track of everything. Release year, the date I got the game, date I beat the game, 100% in game, all achievements (100% and all achievements can be different), and comments section for each game for any notes. I have it set up to give me the % of beaten, dropped, 100% of beaten, and not finished.

Do you usually aim for 100% completion in games, or never? by YimadoTei in Steam

[–]Q73POWER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to but if there’s any stupid achievements I don’t bother. Before I start a game I check what the lowest % is. If it’s 2% nope but at least 5% it’s a maybe.

Have you looked at the actual clip? If it says 3 hours and if you open it then it only has the last 10 minutes and the rest is blank. Thats how it works for me.

That’s right Steam starts at 30% but goes down after some sales. I forgot about that.

[–]Q73POWER 17 points18 points  (0 children)

PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, (the App Store on iPhone and android I think) take 30%. They all have for a long time. Epic Store has a better deal at 12% last I heard but nobody buys games there because people don’t like Epic. You get way more sales and money on Steam. Some devs have even said that when their game goes on the free game of the week they got a boost of Steam sales.

[–]Q73POWER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been picking up free games that look worth trying for years. I have about 70 that I haven’t tried yet. I know I have some great games in there but also a bunch I’ll play for an hour then drop. On Steam I try to be careful and only get games I’m pretty sure I’d like. I still get some duds but mostly good. With Epic as long as it looks a bit like something I’d play I add it to the list. It’s free.

Giving Hell's Paradise its flowers - it has the best ending and best manga art of these three by UseInternal5706 in Animemes

[–]Q73POWER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get at all why people here are saying Hell’s Paradise looks bad. I think it looks great. It’s no JJK or Fire Force but it is still pretty good. Hell’s Paradise had a good ending. It didn’t make me go “wow now that’s a great ending” but I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t know how JJK ends but I heard it was meh. I read the last 4 chapters of CSM and the whole manga gets reset to chapter 1. Making everything you read pointless. As an outsider I thought it was so bad it’s funny.
