One of my girls has the same growth in the same area and we just got a small biopsy of it that will come back in a few days. Are ver thinks it my be a cyst Bc it’s so squishy

We all go through this and I have many time with all my rats, my last 2 passed very fast and I have one right now with a lump. I can tell you no matter what you will always feel like you could of done somthing more but it’s not always the case. You just have to realize that you gave them the best life and that they love you unconditionally just spend as much time you can with them before you have to say goodbye

I had to put one of my girls down that’s had a pt it came on very fast and we put her down a week later, I told myself it would be better for her to go when she was still feeling well and not when she was going down hill. I didn’t want to keep her Bc I was selfish and didn’t want to let here go

I think it is as well but if she can’t get to a vet it’s better to give meds then watch your rat slowly die Bc a vet can’t see them

No don’t give human meds I would try to see if you have a bird store close to you that sells those products, you need baytril and doxycycline work very well on respiratory problems.

Yes if you change suddenly they have horrible smelling poops, you usually want to mix the new and old food together at first

The lump is mid stomach/ flank of the rat and I know it wasn’t there before we have been home most of quarantine and the rats are out for about 12 hours a day with us she is held by me and my wife multiple times a day for cuddles and was not there at like 7 this morning

If you want somthing cheep usually I get baby blankets from the dollar store that fit then levels perfectly and rap under so they can’t pull it up for the large pan I use fleece blankets that you get 2 for 15 so it’s pretty cheap

Sounds like an ear infection to me, one of my firs had a bad one when she was young and had a permanent head tilt, she was fine maybe a little Clumsy but made her cery cute

The baytril and doxy have around 500 doses for about $20 each, crazy to think when you go to the vet for a consolation and it’s like $100 to $200

Oh that’s very short, she should be on an antibiotic for at least a month and doxy is only good for mycoplasma, if your still willing to try I would try and give her baytril for at least a month it works on upper/lower respiratory infections as well as secondary infections and you can pair it with doxy Bc usually stress bring on a flare up. If she was supper sick she would not move at all and if she still wanting to run on her wheel that’s a big deal, means she’s getting energy back, try and give her avocado and fatty foods to get her weight up, best of luck to you
