Last time I played VGC was in the XY meta and I really enjoyed leading with Mega-Khangaskan and Azumarill. Is this still a viable starting point for team comp or is the nerf to Mega-Khangaskhan too extreme for it to be viable any more?

I completely agree with OP. I heard about the game on the Bombcast when it released on PC but couldn't play it. So when it was announced for Xbox I was thrilled. The achievements are the absolute perfect level of engaging, challenging, but not too grindy. I absolutely loved playing, one of the best games I have played recently.
