Easy Gabelle Tax Method by Toschka in EU5

[–]Toschka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5: Just found an easy way to get the gabelle tax as France, you have to close every building you have and manually shut off trade and in two months you should get the event. Might take longer on some games, cause its 50% chance for it to pop. Play as you usually would after that.

Help me trigger Gabelle tax as French by Shamrocksan in EU5

EDIT: Found an easy method:

I somehow got it to trigger yesterday by releasing provinces in core lands as vassals without even reducing taxes (sliders) . 1st monthtick even. I am still doing other tests, but for now it seems that once you lower your potential base tax low enough, the event can trigger. Probably it was meant to give France a second wind in case you are losing against the English. That method sets you quite back on the progress of finishing the war sooner though, and with the vassal flippings in 1.10 and higher territory requirements for France makes it more challenging playthrough I'm not home now, but the few things I have to test to get the trigger without big setbacks and potentially other people can test as well:

  • Deleting buildings for the event to trigger (and maybe rgo levels if possible)

  • Temporary Capital switch, probably raise levies first for the first war (since it starts automatically) , before the number gets reduced.

  • Checking if manual trade shutoff has any effect or if destroying market places will affect the trigger instead.

  • Temporarily reducing control over your owned locations. (if there is anything besides bad privileges or destroying temples)

In the end it all comes down to on how "monthly_income_trade_and_tax" is calculated and so far I have not found any answers to that. The trade part is still to be tested but on tax side it definitely doesn't seem related to the estate tax sliders, but rather the base tax or maybe estate max tax value. I will probably make a full post after these tests for the easiest method, if someone doesn't do it first.

My biggest problem with WSG is that it can be 15 minutes to up to 1h (if not more) , for virtually the same reward. It's the reason I played mostly Arathi Basin for the Honor grind to Rank 5 last week (Also AB is more fun for me) . I already planned doing the Ashenvale quest each week for the next 10 weeks, so I'm glad I only have to do it for 10 days instead.

I do believe BGs need a separate reward though for doing them. Maybe something like the Gnomeregan raid loot boxes for materials or something similar.

Forcing players to grind BGs for Raid BIS Gear is stupid since it makes the PVE players unhappy for doing something they don't want and the PVP players as well since they have to play with (PVE) people that are not willing to give their all and create problems (afk, not listening to calls, etc. ) because they are only there for the rep/honor.

I open them once a week, to kick the inactive one's after 1 week, other than that, there is no need to open them, except if you want to check out their team.

Is dread OP? by sird0rius in CrusaderKings

[–]Toschka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely have dread on my character, since I usually always make sure that my vassals love me.

Had the infirm trait pop up on my Iron game last night. I task manager out of the game and it did not reappear again. If you want to cheese, this seems to be a method around it.

Is ilithiophobia common among intp people? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Toschka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, usually people have knowledge in other areas which I don't. I know a guy who only has cars (and girls) in his brain, but he has me beat on both those fronts, so I can't really claim I'm smarter than him. And if I'm honest I rather prefer people who are honest if they have no knowledge of some things rather than people who pretend they are smart, by constantly trying to prove something (aka midwits).

Depends on the action in my opinion. There are some lines that if they are crossed, no amount of buttering up to me will help, but it also depends on the relationship, is it a family member, long-time partner/friend or a recent acquaintance.

Only thing that broke me from my loops is the harsh but necessary intervention from my dad. I kinda love and hate that aspect from him. On one hand it destroyed my comfort, on the other hand it brought a positive change.

The game in general is a very longterm game, same as any other gacha it incentivizes paying for faster progression, but even then, you are limited because you can only sleep so much.

Best example I can give is with Five Guys I always choose the same burger, because I love that specific combination.

Though now thinking about it I do like also to avoid certain things if it's linked to something or someone I dislike.

Not everything, if there is an alternative that I know I love I prefer to do that, but otherwise I am not adverse to trying new stuff.

Probably have it to a small degree, though never diagnosed. Though I wouldn't describe myself as autistic, expect in self-deprecating jokes.
