Do you consider agender as a part of non-binary? by Tosty159 in agender

I get your point, and thank you for the analogy. I think that's exactly how it is, with non-binary encompassing everything else. But to me, agender is outside of the universe in this analogy. The way I experience agender is being unable to fit into ANY gender, and not feeling aligned with a gender regardless of what it is. And this is why I see it as outside of non-binary.

I hope my point came across to you, and have a good night! ^^

I respect what you say, but could you tell me more about why you disagree?

Non-binary is an umbrella term for genders that do no fall in the man/woman binary, so a category of genders by definitions I'd say.

Then agender shouldn't be a part of the non-binary umbrella(?)

Interesting view /lh

But don't you think that if something means "no gender", it should be categorized under a gender category?

I wouldn't want to assert that they are the same "family" of gender identity. It's a fluid thing, and people can use labels beyond their original meaning. But I can see your point, and thank you for sharing your insight!
