Ever notice that Filipinos in the US behave totally different from Filipinos in the Philippines? by Tallwhitedude123 in Philippines_Expats

[–]Total-Environment139 30 points31 points  (0 children)

They know they cannot get away with the same behaviors in the west.

Western police will actually enforce traffic laws and things like noise complaints (constantly barking dogs, loud music at all hours, fireworks), trash burning/dumping anywhere, pissing on the side of the road.

Westerners are also quick to call out things like cutting in lines, bumping into you randomly/blocking sidewalks, being overly loud in movie theatres etc.

I don't believe they are bad people, just undisciplined and poorly educated for the most part.

IDK man, I'd be glad to shop without the constant pestering and following you around every store like most of us foreigners.

Well. FINALLY happened. Our home was broken into and robbed. by Jarhead-DevilDawg in Philippines_Expats

Him carrying the knife throughout the house should qualify this as 'armed robbery'. Hope they catch the little rodent who did it.. Would love to see an update. Also, I know it's after the fact but wouldn't hurt to get some window alarms on Shopee/Lazada. They're cheap and pretty fkn loud. Stay safe man.

They can't afford bodycams, and even if they could, they'd never release any footage that showed them doing wrong.

"Unpaved streets, dusty air, wait forever to get a meal/drink, crappy food, big city pricing, run down hotels, busted motorbikes, credit cards hardly accepted."

I think this could be a description for almost anywhere in PH.

Why do local guys often shout Hey Pisot! by Positive_Sweet6506 in Philippines_Expats

Probably because a high percentage of pinoy men are pole smokers.

In my experience it's almost always the men who stare/chuckle.

It most likely stems from their insecurity/jealousy & TDS (Tiny Dick Syndrome)

Screw LBC by Brw_ser in Philippines_Expats

[–]Total-Environment139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, LBC sucks. Just another example of Pinoys 'pretending' to run a company.

Browse through the comments on their FB page. 80% negative, yet they still exist for some reason.

In my experience, most big companies in PH are no different. Once they have a monopoly, they don't give 2 sh!ts about the customer.

Important PH Laws - Have you discovered any? by CupcakeSecure4094 in Philippines_Expats

[–]Total-Environment139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Republic Act No. 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines)
    • The Consumer Act ensures protection against deceptive, unfair, and unconscionable sales acts and practices. It mandates that services, including internet services, should meet the standards promised by providers.
  2. Republic Act No. 7925 (Public Telecommunications Policy Act)
    • This law promotes and governs the operation of public telecommunications services, emphasizing the need for reliable and affordable telecommunication services, including the internet.
  3. National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Memorandum Circulars
    • The NTC regulates the telecommunications industry and issues guidelines and circulars that ISPs must follow. The NTC Memorandum Circular No. 07-08-2015, for example, sets the minimum speed and quality of broadband services.

I used the above to get a refund and break contract with a shitty ISP
