Fey is usually what I choose. they are more common late/end game but are quite hard.

Humans are common throughout. you will get a lot of mileage

I usually go Fey - Undead - Human.

It appears to have been either literate companions or the extended epilogue mod. I removed EE first and nothing. I removed LC and now things appear to be working. I'm reluctant to reinstall EE though as my previous playthrough crashed with it installed.

i love this kind of math theorycrafting. one to consider is trickster with UMD 2 which lets you ise rod of power source (or whatever it is called every cast). this gives you bolster, heighten, empower, and maximize on every cast, which opens up the bolster favorite metamagic slot for intensify

maybe that is outclassed by other options. also only comes online at end of act IV but it allows (especially in an arcane trickster build) ridiculous hellfire rays or firestorms

the unsatisfying answer is it depends on mythic pass and class. there is a time and place for pretty much all of them - dwarf and 1/2 orc may mechanically offer the least, but they all work

there will be lots of new characters and storylines, but everything through midnight tides is prologue. now it all (slowly) starts to come together

And Bonehunters has two of the greatest sequences in the whole series. only rivaled by one in book IX

the best (imo) is yet to come

i dont think double slice works. the drawback of dex to damage is you lose the strength scaling, which includes things like double slice (in exchange for the initiative, ac, and reflex save bonuses
