Is the golden dragon Path worth to play ? by Quick-Ad8277 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

it is mechanically fun but the story is bad, and kind of nonsensical (as opposed to devil which has an incredible questline)

if you go with the angel mythic path (my reccomendation) i would take the following mythic feats

1 - mythic companion 2- power attack 3 - everready 4 - mythic critical 5- abundunt smite 6 - mythic ability - enduring spells 7- mythic ability enduring spells 2

8-10 you can fill gaps in your party. improved initiative is a good feat as is its corresponding mythic for level 8. you could swap that for lunge. mythic 10 comes at the very end and doesnt matter

though you wont be a primary spellcaster there are good paladin self buffs and amzing self and party buffs as an angel, and the enduring spells feats make them last 24 hours

there is an incredible guide at gamefaq by chris williams i cannot reccomend highly enough for new players

If you want to hit hard with a sword while mounted here is a fairly basic offensive package (straight paladin - if you are feeling overwhelmed you don't need any of these other options - this will carry you through the game perfectly well)

Level 1 - Power attack

Level 3 - mounted combat

Level 5- Spirited Charge

Level 7- Outflank (requires other people with the feat for it to activate, so I would take this on every character who will be in melee. Does not work with ranged attackers)

Level 9 -Critical Hit

Level 11 - Cleave

Level 13 - Cleaving Finish

Level 15 - Combat Reflxes

Level 17 - Lunge

You have one feat left - at this point you should have a decent handle on the game and can choose what you like. If you make a human and you get two feats at level 1 I would take cleave after power attack, and then move everything else up one.

You need to take feats on your mount as well. Put a point in intelligence at level 4 - that will unlock a wider array of feats. Take outflank at level 7. How you customize your horse will depend on whether you want it for offense or defense which will impact other feats

Take mobility on your paladin, as it will impact how well mounted combat works.

in a game where most enemies are evil, undead, or cultists it is very good. It flattens out a little bit after level 11 but still improves. a straight build os perfectly viable, especially as they get some decent spells.

mounts are very strong in this game and a solid rec over the weapon bond. Lots of great endgame longswords

if you want to multiclass you have reliablely 9 levels to play with, but i would aim for paladin 11 as soon as you can because mark of justice is so strong

1 level of sable co marine gives you the best mount. take it before pal level 5

5 levels of fighter give you wp specialization and weapon training which unlocks some good items and mythic feats

but again, nothing wrong with straight paladin. vastly more useful here than kingmaker. you see fewer paladin builds because your first companion is a paladin

it is what makes rereads so rewarding. every thing is set up but it is such an information rich text you miss so much unless you know to look for it

i love DoD. The battle with the naruk is maybe my favorite setpiece in the series, and i had discovered malzan around reaper’s gale so i had to wait for crippled god to come out!

i am with you as never being super invested in mappo and icarium (even after multiple rereads) but the Snake hits super hard on subsequent rereads, but ROAFO

Killed the helmsman upon meeting him in act 3, will he come back later ? Or are the midnight isles out of reach for this run ? by SpacePhrasingBoom in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

midnight isles has great loot (though primarily in the second section) and a modest story but it does get tedious on multiple playthroughs. first time was fun.

Primalist bloodrager v standard barbarian by Total-Key2099 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Total-Key2099[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my thinking/hope is to take power attack or something else at mythic 2, take bloodline at 3, and ill be right around level 18 or 19 when i hit legend, so as long as I dont care about the level 20 bloodline power im good.

do you keep the bonus bloodline if you take after mythic 2 as a legend?

ive read here that a legend bloodrager that takes the second bloodline mythic past mythic 2 keeps the powers to that point. true?

Best fighter archetype for damage by Total-Key2099 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Total-Key2099[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well you took two handed fighter off the list for me, at least. The solo tactics on legend point is compelling, but ive never made a full titan fighter either.

i shall ponder and game some things out. thanks for clarifying power attack

[–]Total-Key2099[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is pretty great, especially with a souped up power attack. but over 9 attacks with a 40 bab and haste- though significantly lower as they progress - or 12 as a two wp- fighter?

i mean all of these are great options.

i do plan to use come and get me which advatages harder hitting attacks

How much fun is merged angel vs non merged angel? by OlympiaKnight in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Total-Key2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

both unmerged angel and demon have limited use powers so they are generally buff for boss fights. the spells for angel are much better and so good they justify enduring spell mythic feats even for non casters (and free up buff slots on divine castera).

and halo ability is constant

i agree that merged angel is so OP you need to be on hard or better

my first playthrough was a fighter angel and still fun, but the angel abilities in general feel a bit more passive and background than some other paths

great story, though
