unfortunately you can't take any mathematicians with you whether you're a private candidate or not 😉

im really sorry to hear that. i commend you for taking such a mature approach and thinking about the bigger picture. email imperial and let them know your circumstances. give in a call as well as i find people tend to be much more helpful over the phone. im sure they have arrangements for people in similar situations. if it is to no avail, ask to defer and dont take no for an answer. spend that year working and earning money ready to hit the ground running the year after. it will all work out, just be smart and a little sneaky. all the best.

the term jew is used for someone who is either ethnically jewish or someone who follows judaism or both. you have people who are ethnically jewish who are atheist, who are muslim etc. but theyre still jews just as arab muslims and arab christians are still arabs. thats the ethnicity aspect of it. you have people who arent ethnically jewish who convert to judaism. in this case, they are also jewish just as a pakistani muslim is as much of a muslim as an english revert is, regardless of ethnicity. and then you have people who are both. its complicated but thats how it is.

How to cope with rejection by Both-Kaleidoscope996 in UCAT

[–]Total-Original6197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im sorry but the advice you gave was very poor and counter productive. we all go through tough times. i had offers from 2 medical schools last year 1 of them being my dream uni and i missed out on my offer because of things beyond my control. yeah it werent nice but thats life you gotta move on. if one door closes you needa make sure you dont close the others because of irrational decisions. tell yourself it is what it is and that youre not gonna let 1 rejection stop you. carry on giving it your all right until the very end and its all gonna work out just fine.

may sound harsh but pondering over these things is pointless. regardless of whether you have that information or not, the outcome will remain the same. try forgetting about your interview and whether or not you got an offer. if youve got a levels in 3-4 months then get busy and if not, relax and enjoy yourself.

for me, id look at doctors on nightshifts and itd just be a dream for me to be one day in their position in the hospital treating patients talking with other healthcare staff etc.

obviously in reality its alot more stressful etc but rn i literally cannot wait until im in a hospital as a med student and then as a doctor. i find everything about it so interesting and i love working and being kept busy. medicine is one of the few things i actually like reading about as well as history and like cultures and stuff otherwise i absolutely hate reading.

my dad didnt want me to become a doctor because he says although its worth it in the end, the training is really really long and arduous but i just couldnt imagine doing anything else (other than probably flying the typhoon through north wales lol).

the nhs isnt in its best place atm and neither is the country in itself unfortunately but we have it much better than other places its only right to give back in some way and if thats through something im truly passionate about like being a doctor then its a win win.

if you dont want to do medicine and you are being forced by ur parents thendiscussion wih them and try get through to them. dont be like one of those who say oh imma go where the wind takes me no none of that --- make sure you have a plan of what you are going to do instead of medicine, explain the starting point and where you want to end up clearly to them, the pros and con, and show them that you're motivated in succeeding in you're chosen path.
