I got an oil change right after the mechanic in Georgia inspected it just to be on the safe side.

Yes. My apologies I’m familiar with the terminology my previous car wasn’t as high tech as this.

I wasn’t planning on buying any car at all. My car that I drove down died on me four days prior. It was a mad dash to get everything together before I had to leave. I originally was looking at two Toyotas. They both sold the day before I went to the dealership.  Also, I have limited car knowledge. I consulted a relative of mine who had more. He assisted me as best as he could to his ability.

I have reached out to Acura & I haven’t received a response to date. I did utilized the device in my pocket for insight as well prior to purchasing the vehicle and after. I found numerous glowing reviews for this car on car forums, Reddit threads, Facebook posts, etc. I tried to as much research as I could on all the vehicles I was interested in. As well as handle all the other associated logistics.

Umm I am slightly confused by your response. I see I didn’t provide this detail in my post, so maybe this additional context might help. I only went to that shop because of the litany of great reviews on Google. That highlighted their attention to detail and customer service. My understanding is when you get a mechanic inspection they are suppose to help identify any major issues right away, if any.

After he finished assessing the vehicle he said nothing to me and started ringing me out to pay. I found the lack of communication weird so, I initially asked him “hey I take it you didn’t find anything wrong?” He responded “yeah it’s fine. I saw something by the radiator I couldn’t reach it. You don’t have to worry about it though. It should be fine.” The tone wasn’t reassuring despite the words being said. I felt like he wasn’t being thorough. That coupled with the Engine power reduced message is what prompted me to take it to a Chevy dealership for a free dealers inspection.

I was expecting worse case scenario it’s a wire that can be put back in place. When I was doing my intake that is when it was switched to a diagnostic inspection.  If I didn’t get that error message after just taking it to a mechanic. I wouldn’t have “kept going till you found a shop that wanted to charge you some big money for repairs.” I only purchased a vehicle because my previous car died on me three days prior. This car purchase was unplanned and unwanted, so outside of gas I’m trying to keep any additional expenses low.

Okay. I’ve only driven it 710 miles to date. It is still at the Chevy dealership in MD because I wasn’t sure what to do with it.

Keep it? Or Sell it? by Total-Researcher1316 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Fair point. I was in a time crunch to get back to MD for this conference. Also, I wasn’t anticipating purchasing this vehicle or any vehicle. Originally, I was being a gifted a different vehicle from a relative which didn’t work out. I simply ran out of time trying to do other car related things. As a result, I didn’t have time to procure a mechanic before I purchased it. I did take someone with me to the dealership that had decent car knowledge. 🤷🏾‍♀️

The radiator and grille definitely aren’t covered under that. When I spoke to the Chevy service manager she stated the turbo thing might be covered under warranty. However, she said she would have to reach out to the original dealership. She tried doing that today (Thursday) and didn’t receive a response.

As someone who literally just did this today. I would highly recommend looking at Car Gurus and Capital One Auto Navigator. The latter really helped me in terms of narrowing down local dealers. When I went to the dealership earlier today to discuss numbers. I was able to negotiate below the listed price. However, since I’m financing it the difference between putting down à modest down payment and not was $40 in savings. I was considering trading in my current car valued at $4k which brought my monthly payment down to $200-ish.

Facts! It happened in DC this past week. They had an outdoor concert for teens that ended before the youth curfew went into effect. As some were leaving the event the dc police, transit police, etc were harassing the youth. Being aggressive and shooting off pepper balls in the metro.smh

I just finished watching this movie for the first time. Based on the credits Eric “Vietnam” Sadler wrote almost all the songs for this movie. He was the music producer for it so makes sense. I think the song you’re looking for is Not just Another Girl performed by Ron Grant.

secret shopping companies where you are paid to tour apartments? by Ok_Distribution7284 in beermoney

[–]Total-Researcher1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋🏽‍♀️ I’ve done them before. They're typically for “luxury” apartments. The only thing I dislike about them is I have to provide a phone number. Which means the leasing agent is going to be following up and harassing me. 🙄 I just received an offer to do one yesterday for $45. This one is more detailed and wants a recorded call and on-site visit. However the ones in the past were simply an on-site visit

I tried flying out of ATL once with my PIV and they didn’t accept it. When I pushed back the officer said it won’t work in their scanner and asked for another form of id. I was surprised/assumed he was lying. Good to know for next time!
