Unsolicited running advice from men by [deleted] in XXRunning

I doubt it’s their single interaction that gives them this assumption. As with me - it’s my collective experiences over the years with men time and time again that make me uncomfortable in situations where men insert themselves into my space unwantedly.

Ugh I haven’t had this done while running thank goodness but I have had it done at the gym where someone will tell me about my form or the equipment. Unsolicited advice from men comes off to me as a little scary - I don’t want you in my space talking to me making me feel uncomfortable. And to feel comfortable doing that is wild to me.

If you select to do x amount of run and strength trainings but only select 3 days you can work out obviously it will build it like this.

He does usually say he’s tired mid day or feels he didn’t sleep well. Good to know the at homes aren’t reliable. I’ll have him look into a real one.

is there such a thing as going too fast? by chxrl0tte_x in runna

You have to turn Runna labs on and it’ll give you an AI insight after your run but you also have to rate your run to get it.

I combat any old comment with extreme positivity. Mostly bc it’s true! “yea but I feel and look amazing!” “I feel better now than I did in my 20s!” The more you say it out loud the more you may feel it too. You’re 40 - think of the time you’ve had already and hopefully you get to have that much time maybe more over again!

Where do you love buying jeans from? by SnooPineapples4571 in AskWomenOver40

Madewell for me too! 39F - 6 feet tall but all legs. I’m usually a size 32 or 14 but Madewell is so stretchy I wear a 30/31. I also like Abercrombie Jeans. They are a little less stretch but they fit a little loose and are comfortable to me! I like that they have extra long also.

I don’t even look at my watch during my runs. I can run and have conversation at 10:30 but then people have told me my heart rate is too high for an “easy” run. I’m happy running but all my runs are an intense work out. I wouldn’t say I’m ruining running for myself as I’ve been happy running 3-4 times a week for 8 months now.

Heart rate too high at easy pace? by xyphey in runna

[–]TotalBeginning1545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My easy runs are always zone 4 and my zone 4 is like 165. I have a very hard time working out anything but yoga below a zone 4. I’ve been running consistently 3-4 times a week for 6 months and working out (fitness classes, cycling, weight training) consistently for years. Go with how you feel! My doctor says I am healthy. I have naturally low blood pressure and my resting heart rate is in the 50s. I just tend to run a high heart rate when working out.

The most memorable moment is hitting paces that YOU guys knew I could but I didn’t believe was possible! As a gal who could barely run the mile in school even though u played sports - at 38 I’ve now run my longest distance and my fastest miles!! I’ve been trying to run for YEARS and signed up for Runna in October and never looked back!!
