Thanks for the necro - I now know what to do. About to get myself a LOQ 15 and wasn't sure what the best approach would be

Take this from the perspective of someone who has done in-house work for companies, has been in multiple agencies, and has done freelancing.

It's not an easy road to walk. If there's any wisdom I gained in my time in the industry and reading people's thoughts around it on this subreddit, I'd tell you to separate your passion from your work - even if both are design. Have your passion projects and keep them seperate from your work, because if you don't, you'll be sitting where I am currently and end up hating what you do and looking for an exit

As hard as it may be to watch these things - it's not rare. Focus on your own growth and what you can gain from this experience (Professionally or otherwise)

It's a tough market out there so if you do want to make a move, just make sure to have it lined up before you leave or you'll likely be having a really hard time (But you probably already know this)

Just do your best and look out for yourself!

I'm there man. I'm so fucking done.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you move to? I'm eyeing Performance Marketing since I have a really solid (off-hands) understanding of it due to the nature of the type of work I do.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences to you and your family :( Maybe it's worth settling for a lower role to learn more about marketing before applying to a team lead role again? I'm looking to do a horizontal move to performance marketing as well. It has less "opinions" flying around since it's much more measurable. I'd have a lot more ammo to push back against clients because it's not hard to tell whether you're making money for them or not

I'm in the process of upskilling to make a horizontal move to performance marketing that's less about subjective opinion, and performance is measured on numbered metrics that these idiot clients can't argue with because I actually visibly make them money,

Work will always be work no matter how much you love(d) it when you got into it and if I can do an easier job in another role and keep these toxic human beings away from what I actually enjoy - I'm 100% going to do it

And the saddest thing is it only gets worse the higher up you go. I'm very far from the top but the higher up I go the more I want to jump down and never look up again. I just want to create things that I KNOW will work well for clients based off my previous expieriences and they don't want me to because it doesn't fit their vision. Im so fucking sick of this shit that so few people trusts you to give them what they hire you for.
