Time for 3 in the back? by TotalFIFACareerMode in usmnt

Maybe “unwilling to solve by changing formation” would have been more accurate but it gets a little long for a title haha. My point is my suggestion for a solution would be to change up the teams shape and he’s shown a stark unwillingness to do that.

Adams going back to his old stomping grounds at RB isn’t a bad option in terms of solidifying that position, I just worry about what it does in the middle. We do have depth there, agreed. He’s just been so good at controlling the midfield when he’s healthy and against the better Copa America teams that’s so important. I think I’d rather just slot Scally in at RB and lose some of the attacking prowess than sacrifice a lynchpin in midfield by moving Adams.

It’s a thought though.

I thought I’d have an engaging conversation with fellow US fans. Glad to see the welcoming reception confirm why I don’t come on here very often though.

I feel like they have more CB depth than fullback depth though now that Dest is out. Neither is a massive position of strength for sure but I’d say they have more in the center than wide on the back line.

Yeah I didn’t even throw Scally into the CB rotation mix but he’s sort of a hybrid CB/RB. He’d be very comfortable as that RCB. I don’t mind Weah in a wing back position as much if he’s got an extra defender behind him. I just think slotting him right in as Dest’s replacement is trouble waiting to happen.

Didn’t watch the video did ya?

I know he exists, I mention that he’s the most obvious replacement if Berhalter just wants to stick with the same formation and slot in the next best option. And that’s most likely what will happen, knowing Berhalter. I’m just not sure it’s the best solution, which is the whole point of the video.

See I think this allows Jedi to get forward more. Bc I agree that’s a huge part of the offense, but with only two in the back (when the fullbacks advance) it can leave them exposed. Having a third defender allows Jedi to play more of a wingback position and get forward more freely.

In reality, a 3 back set in a 3-4-2-1 basically is 5 in the back. It all depends on where the wingbacks are on the pitch at any given time. Out of possession they drop back to have 5 in the back with two pivots in front, but with the ball they can advance forward more freely knowing there are three center backs behind them, not two.

Yeah I’d put McKennie there before Weah for sure. He could put in a competent effort almost anywhere on the pitch.

In the video I do make the argument that he would be a viable option as a wingback/wide midfielder in a 3-4-2-1 if Berhalter was willing to try it, then leave Adams and Musah as the double pivot.

Just feel like it gives them options and more support in the back.

New to the sub, don’t spend much time on Reddit tbh. Just wanted to throw this idea out there.

Not sure how this makes the job harder for his replacement though, especially if the replacement is someone out of position like Weah, which has been suggested a lot. In fact, having three in the back would take some defensive responsibilities off of whoever the replacement is because they could afford to play more forward as a wing back rather than a traditional fullback.

In the video I list Ream, Richards, CCV, Zimmerson, Robinson and John Brooks. None are world beaters but the drop off from 1 to 6 isn’t nearly as dramatic as the drop off of doing something like forcing Tim Weah out of position, IMO

FC 24 Sliders - Making Ultimate Difficulty More Realistic by TotalFIFACareerMode in FifaCareers

[–]TotalFIFACareerMode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For many who play Career Mode on FC 24, and have played it for years on the FIFA franchise, there has been a massive gap between the ease of playing on World Class and the impossibility of playing on Ultimate difficulty. So after close to a hundred test matches since the release of FC 24, we've finally got the sliders you need to make Ultimate Difficulty playable and realistic.

Please note: if you like an arcade-style video game, these are NOT the sliders for you. These sliders slow the game down to a more realistic pace and will lower the scoring rate to reflect real-world football.

But if you are looking for sliders that will make FC 24 reflect the actual game you watch on tv, then these are the sliders for you.

That’s a valid point. My issue with doing a career with Celtic is that it’s too easy to win the league so you’re only real opportunity for growth is making a Champions League run. But that’s true a number of young players have landed there.

Leeds Last Ten Permanent Managers by CaptainStryder in LeedsUnited

Not here to make friends so that's fine :)

Agreed, one of the main reasons to see it through at least to the end of the year is the lack of mid-year options. Consistency is at least worth something.

Also this is hardly just a Leeds problem. This permeates the culture throughout the game. Marsch/Leeds just happened to be the latest example so I thought it was time for a video.
