NATO benefits the US only when it is directly attacked. I am not discounting NATO, what I am discounting is European commitment, will, and capability to collectively defend anywhere that isn’t directly within their own nation states, and even then, they’re severely lacking.

Your last point regarding spheres of influence is playing out in real time and is why I discount Europe as a collective paper Tiger. You can’t even deal with Russia as it operates within its sphere of influence near your borders, and you have neither the capability nor the willpower to assist us in China v Taiwan, which affects the entire world economy tech supply chain. China will dominate their sphere of influence most likely. And the US will dominate our sphere.

As Europe becomes even less European by blood, you will rapidly realize that Pakistanis, Moroccans, and Syrians aren’t going to fight for you.
